Tragic Incident: 34-Year-Old Man Dies in Jervis Bay Beach Drowning

A man has drowned at a beach in Jervis Bay, south of Sydney.

Tragedy struck yesterday at Greenpatch Beach as a 34-year-old man lost his life in a distressing incident. Around 4:45 pm, several individuals found themselves in perilous situations in the water, prompting a rapid response from emergency services.

ACT and NSW Police, as well as other emergency services were called, pulled him out and did CPR.

Despite the valiant efforts of rescuers, the man could not be revived and was pronounced dead at the scene. The unfortunate event unfolded at Lobster Bay Beach in Shoalhaven, where he was pulled from the water.

In the same series of incidents, paramedics attended to three other individuals who encountered difficulties in the water. Fortunately, none of them required further medical treatment and were stabilized on site.

In a separate but related incident, Mel Austin faced a terrifying ordeal at Dunbogan Beach on New Year’s Day. Her child was caught in a rip, highlighting the unpredictable dangers of the ocean even on seemingly calm days.

The death comes a day after a man in his 50s died around 10 kilometres north of Jervis Bay.

He was pulled from the water at Lobster Bay Beach in Shoalhaven and could not be revived.

Five people have now drowned in beaches in New South Wales over the holiday period.

Searches for two missing people in Sydney have now been called off.

Authorities were searching for a 16-year-old boy who missing after a boat capsized at Palm Beach on New Year’s Eve. A 47-year-old man died in the incident.

On New Year’s Day, a 22-year-old Nepalese man Sushana Khadka was swept away at Coogee Beach, but has not been found.
