A woman has been killed after she was trapped between her car and her house in the Adelaide suburb of Para Hills.

Residents of Lynore Street are grappling with the aftermath of the fatal incident that claimed the life of 60-year-old Debbie Dennert last night.

Emergency services were called to the scene following reports that the victim had become trapped between her Toyota Kluger and her house at the base of a steep driveway.

Debbie Dennert’s husband released a statement expressing his profound grief, saying he was “at a total loss”. (Nine)

Neighbour Kevin Clarke said the immediate aftermath saw a flurry of activity.

“Everybody turned up, police turned up, fire brigade turned up, we needed the fire brigade to get her out,” he said.

Clarke and another neighbour raised the alarm shortly before 8pm.

Initial efforts focused on extricating the victim from the vehicle.

“We both came running out, down the driveway, we saw what was happening, he did most of the work, the car was jammed up against the wall,” Clarke said.

Paramedics attended to the grandmother, but she was pronounced dead at the scene.

“We were talking to her saying you’ll be OK, to just keep talking to us, keep talking to us,” Clarke said.

“The love of my life and loving wife Debbie grew her wings … So sorry for our three children, their partners and our grandchildren … RIP my beautiful wife,” he wrote.

The incident occurred shortly before the couple was due to embark on an overseas trip to celebrate their recent 40th wedding anniversary.

“They raised a holiday overseas actually, they were about to go in a couple weeks time,” Clarke said.

Friends have remembered Debbie as a vibrant member of the community.

Clarke described her as “a really genuine and lovely person”, adding that “my wife and her were always exchanging fruit and flowers and stuff like that”.

Police are preparing a report for the coroner.
