A 12-year-old girl was among three people killed in a horror crash near Kingaroy in Queensland overnight.

Preliminary findings indicate that a Dodge Ram pickup truck collided with a Ford Ranger on the Bunya Highway in Taabinga, close to the junction of Stuart Valley Drive and Toomey’s Road, just after 10 p.m.

Following the impact, the Dodge Ram was engulfed in flames.

The male driver of the Dodge, who was alone in the vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Tragically, a 44-year-old woman driving the Ranger and a 12-year-old girl in the vehicle also lost their lives.

A 13-year-old girl, another passenger in the Ranger, suffered serious injuries and was initially transported to Kingaroy Hospital. She was later airlifted to Queensland Children’s Hospital, where her condition was stable.

The highway remains closed at the location of the crash this morning, with diversions in place.

Anybody who may have been travelling in the area around the time of the crash and who may have information, is urged to contact police.
