Three individuals are in critical condition after a car veered off the road and struck them in Sydney’s western suburbs.

Authorities responded to the incident around 9 a.m. at the junction of Bungarribee Road and Lock Street in Blacktown.

According to police reports, a collision occurred between a white Toyota Corolla and a maroon Honda CR-V. The impact caused one of the vehicles to careen into three men who were standing near a business on Lock Street.

The men, all reportedly in their 30s, suffered severe injuries.

Emergency medical teams provided on-site treatment before transporting the victims to Westmead Hospital, where they remain in critical condition.

Aerial vision from the crash scene shows the white Corolla on its side and a tree knocked over, and the maroon Honda stopped in the middle of the intersection.

Police have taken the drivers of both cars, believed to be aged in their 20s and 30s, to Blacktown Hospital for mandatory testing.

Officers have established a crime scene which will be examined by specialist police from the Crash Investigation Unit.

Transport for NSW has confirmed Bungarribee Road has been closed in both directions between Flushcombe Road and Blacktown Road due to the “serious car and pedestrian crash”.

Diversions for buses and cars are in place, with motorists advised to expect delays.
