Five men sought emergency medical care at two different hospitals, each suffering from life-threatening injuries.
“One of the individuals received medical treatment but unfortunately passed away shortly afterward,” stated NSW Police.
Authorities have not yet confirmed the deceased man’s identity.
Another man is currently hospitalized and reported to be in stable condition.
Approximately ten minutes later, two additional men arrived at Fairfield Hospital in critical condition and are currently receiving treatment, according to police reports.
More than an hour later, at 9.50pm, the fifth man, believed to be a 19-year-old, appeared at Liverpool Hospital in a stable condition and was being treated for injuries.
Police set up a crime scene at a home in Canley Heights.
Officers attached to Fairfield City Police Area Command – with assistance from the State Crime Command’s Homicide Squad – are investigating.
