Authorities discovered two of the individuals hiding beneath the Bolte Bridge, while the third suspect was located inside a car, according to police statements.

During the arrest, officers allegedly found a jerry can inside the vehicle, leading to the apprehension of all three men.

Earlier that morning, around 2:30 a.m., there was an alleged incident involving a Molotov cocktail being thrown at the St George Hotel in South Melbourne.

Following the attack, the group reportedly fled the scene in a getaway car.

Limited damage was done, and there was nobody in the pub at the time.

Detectives from Operation Eclipse, which was set up after a string of fire bombings targeted licensed venues across Melbourne, will now investigate the two attacks.

Police say young offenders are being paid to carry out the crimes.

The bar was filled with people in the early hours when the attackers smashed through the entry and tried to set the venue alight at about 5am.

Authorities are also looking into whether illegal alcohol could be the reason behind the attacks.
