'Dumb people': Trump blames 'radical left' for recent political violence

US President Donald Trump has issued an ominous warning as he continues to blame the “radical left” for recent political violence in the country, despite an ongoing lack of public evidence.

Asked about the shooting at an ICE facility that killed one detainee and wounded two others earlier, this week, Trump blamed “radical left rhetoric”.

“The radical left is causing the problem, they’re out of control,” he said.

“They’re saying things, and they’re really dumb people. I mean, I look at (Texas Democratic Representative Jasmine Crockett), I look at some of these people, they’re very low IQ people actually, but the radical left is causing this problem, not the right, the radical left.”

Investigators have said today the shooter who carried out the attack on the ICE building was “anti-government” but have not speculated about his political leanings.

Trump and his allies have also blamed the “radical left” for the assassination of conservative influencer Charlie Kirk.

The accused killer, Tyler Robinson, is not registered with any political party and his motivation remains unknown, though in purported text messages attached to his charge sheet Robinson is seen condemning Kirk’s “hate”.

Today, Trump, who has already declared “antifa” or anti-fascist ideology a “terrorist organisation”, again warned of consequences for his political opponents, before appearing to walk back the sentiment.

“I mean bad things happen when they play these games, and I’ll give you a little clue, the right is a lot tougher than the left, but the right’s not doing this,” he said.

“They’re not doing it and they better not get them energised because it won’t be good for the left, and I don’t want to see that happen either.

“I’m the president of all the people, but the radical left is causing this, radical left Democrats are causing this problem and it gets worse, it gets worse, and it’ll be a point where other people won’t take it anymore, and that will not be good for the radical left, and we don’t want that.”
