Clothes retailers Millers and Noni B, the last remaining stores from the Mosaic Brands shopping group, are shutting down.

The two chains will be wound down by April after the group’s receivers were unable to find a buyer, it was announced today, leading to the closure of 252 stores and 933 job losses.

“Despite the best efforts of all parties, we have been unable to achieve a sale of any of the brands within the Mosaic portfolio,” receiver David Hardy from KPMG said.

Rivers will join Katies, Rockmans, Autograph, Crossroads, W Lane and BeMe in the retail graveyard of brands axed by the company. (Nine)

“As a result, all stores in the Mosaic Brands Group will be wound down over the coming months. We expect all stores will be closed by mid-April.”

Mosaic went into voluntary administration in October after it had earlier announced plans to wind down five of its chains: Rockmans, Autograph, Crossroads, W Lane and BeMe.

It announced it was doing so to focus on its other five brands: Rivers, Millers, Noni B, Katies and the Mosaic marketplace, but all will now be shut down.

“The receivers would again like to acknowledge and thank the Mosaic management team, employees, customers and suppliers for their support throughout the receivership process,” Hardy said.

The receivers said individual stores will close at different times, depending on stock levels, and that closing-down sales will take place.
