Two teenagers are wanted over a stabbing and assault yesterday, which police believe to be linked.

In one incident, two boys assaulted a 70-year-old man inside a chemist at a shopping centre on Cheltenham Road in Keysborough at 4.55pm yesterday.

The man was assaulted after he tried to stop the pair from leaving the store with suspected stolen items.

The 70-year-old man was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

In the second attack, police believe the same two boys approached a 16-year-old boy waiting at a bus stop on Centre Dandenong Road in Dingley Village at 7.15pm.

The teenager was stabbed in an “unprovoked attack,” Victoria Police said.

He was also assaulted as he tried to get away.

He was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Police tried to track down the boys but they fled from the scene.
