“This follows preliminary testing evidence indicating that the SPF levels of their products may be lower than what is claimed on their labels,” the TGA said in a statement.

“There is a risk that a low SPF rating may increase the risk of sunburn during use and reduce the long-term effectiveness of preventing skin cancer.”

The TGA said products should be returned to the place of purchase for a full refund.

“Other sunscreens may be added to the table in the coming weeks,” the TGA said.

“We will provide further updates if any other sunscreen products are recalled.

“If you have any concerns or questions about SPF and use of sunscreens, please speak to your health professional.”
