The unfortunate event took place at Heck Field in Woongoolba, located to the south of Brisbane, early this morning.
Details remain unclear as to whether the mishap happened during takeoff or landing.
Emergency services swiftly responded, with multiple paramedic teams arriving at the airfield near Gross Road at 5:57 am.
According to Queensland Ambulance Services, as reported by 9news.com.au, the two people aboard the plane were found with life-threatening injuries upon assessment at the scene.
Firefighters are on the scene working to extinguish a bushfire caused by the crash.
The area is primarily sugar fields and dense bushland, which may present a challenge for fire crews.
Emergency services, including rural and city fire crews, are struggling to access the isolated scene about 30 minutes north of the Gold Coast.
