Two young boys have been stabbed to death west of Melbourne tonight.

Emergency services found a 12-year-old boy with critical injuries after being called to Marble Drive in Cobblebank just before 8pm.

Police said the boy was given CPR but he died at the scene.

A short time later police were alerted to a 15-year-old boy seriously injured nearby on Cobble Street.

The teenager was treated but also died at the scene.

“The exact circumstances surrounding the deaths are still being determined but are believed to be connected,” Victoria Police said in a statement.

“At this time police are treating it as a targeted attack and the investigation remains ongoing.”
