A renewed hunt for accused police killer Dezi Freeman has concluded without search crews finding the fugitive.

Over 100 specialized police officers, along with volunteers and cadaver dogs, dedicated five days this week to thoroughly searching Mount Buffalo National Park.

The search location was pinpointed based on intelligence regarding a gunshot heard in the area shortly after the fatal police shooting incident.

Police and volunteers wrapped up their extensive five-day search today.

Detectives previously revealed they strongly believe the fugitive is dead, and his remains are in the area. (9News)

Investigators have previously stated their strong belief that the fugitive is deceased, with his remains likely located within the search zone.

Freeman has been missing since August 26, the day he allegedly shot and killed two police officers and injured a third.

Neal Thompson and Vadim De Waart-Hottart tragically lost their lives to gunfire as law enforcement executed a search warrant at Freeman’s property on that fateful morning.

Freeman, a self-declared sovereign citizen who is believed to have been the shooter, fled the property and has not been seen since.

A Victorian-first $1 million bounty has been offered for information leading to his arrest.
