This is both in the wake of ex-cyclone Koji as well as another weather system forming off the coast, which has a “high” chance of becoming a severe tropical cyclone early next week, according to the Bureau of Meteorology (BoM).

Although the potential cyclone currently looms to the west of Vanuatu and has yet to enter Australian waters, meteorologists caution that its impact will nonetheless be felt along the Queensland coast. They predict significant beach erosion and inundation in the coming days.
