A manhunt is underway in Newcastle, New South Wales, as authorities seek a prisoner who was mistakenly set free earlier this week.

The individual in question, 35-year-old Kyle Quayle, is currently serving time for offenses related to theft and assault.

Due to a clerical error, he was inadvertently released from a correctional facility on Tuesday, leading police to issue a warrant for his capture, citing his unlawful freedom.
