Concerns over listeria contamination have prompted the recall of several deli meats available in New South Wales and Queensland.

Gotzinger Smallgoods has initiated a recall for their 1kg packages of sliced silverside, sliced roast beef, 4×4 sliced ham, sliced champagne ham, and sliced provincial ham. These products were distributed through various retail outlets and butcher shops across these states.

The recall affects items with use-by dates up to and including specific dates, signaling consumers to avoid these products.

Food Standards Australia New Zealand has strongly advised against the consumption of these potentially compromised goods.

  • Sliced Silverside 1kg – 20 12 2025
  • Sliced Roast Beef and 4×4 Ham Sliced 1kg – 13 12 2025
  • Champagne Ham Sliced 1kg – 17 12 2025
  • Provincial Ham Sliced 1kg – 5 12 2025

Food Standards Australia New Zealand has urged people not to eat the products.

“Consumers should return the products to the place of purchase for a full refund,” the recall notice said.

“Any consumers concerned about their health should seek medical advice.

“Listeria monocytogenes may cause severe illness in pregnant women, unborn babies, neonates, the elderly, and immunocompromised individuals.

“The general population can also become ill from consuming food contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes.”
