A beloved school-time treat is being pulled from shelves due to contamination issues after rubber fragments were found within the snack.
Nestle’s Milo Original Snack Bars, available in various states, are under a recall alert due to the presence of “foreign matter” discovered in the product.
Food Standards Australia and New Zealand have cautioned that the black rubber particles might pose health risks.
“Ingesting food products containing black rubber could lead to illness or injury,” the agency stated.
“We advise consumers to avoid consuming this product,” they added.
“Consumers should return the product(s) to the place of purchase for a full refund.
“Any consumers concerned about their health should seek medical advice.”
Nestle says a contract manufacturer experienced an equipment failure at its facility, resulting in small pieces of black rubber being dislodged during production of the products.
The Milo Dipped Snack bars 270g Box, 960g Box & 160g Box and MILO Original Snack Bars 210g Box have been sold in ALDI, Coles, Woolworths and independent retailers including IGA in NSW, Queensland, Victoria, Tasmania, SA, WA and online.
The Milo Dipped Snack Bars and Milo Snack Bars Original have best before dates showing “end of August 2026”.
The batch numbers include: 5316TD15, 5317TD15, 5318TD15, 5321TD15, 5322TD15 and 5323TD15, 5324TD15.
