Many supporters of Trump suspect that his administration may have hidden Epstein’s connections to influential individuals and withheld information about his 2019 death, officially deemed a suicide, in a Manhattan detention facility.

During an interaction in the Oval Office on Tuesday, Trump labeled a reporter who questioned him about the matter as a “terrible person” and suggested that the journalist’s television network should lose its broadcasting license.

The resolution passed by the House allows the justice department to withhold material that would “jeopardise an active federal investigation or ongoing prosecution”.
