Connor Mcleod, a father and crane operator, was struck by a trail bike in February at the intersection of Kingston and Battle Road at Loganlea, with the rider allegedly caught on dashcam leaving the scene.

“I had two collapsed lungs, fractured rib cage, vertebrae chip in my neck, compound fracture in my arm, a brain bleed and a fractured skull,” he told 9News.

“I was told by doctors if I didn’t go into a fetal position like I did, I would be paralysed.”

Police allege 21-year-old Jermaine Johnason Unuia was riding an unregistered bike while unlicensed.

He’s accused of fleeing the scene of the crash.

“It fills me with rage because he got up, left the scene like no one’s business and then left me there to die. And it nearly did kill me,” Mcleod said.

The father says is fighting to recover for fiancé Anneilese and his four-year-old daughter Aliyah.
