James Martin and Joe Marler are on the hunt for a rugby fan responsible for causing a stir at their high-profile event at the Allianz Stadium in Twickenham this past Saturday.

The TV chef, aged 53, and the Celebrity Traitors star, 35, were hosting an exclusive hospitality suite priced at £1,250 per ticket, celebrating England’s historic victory over New Zealand. However, the upscale gathering was marred by an unexpected incident when someone left an unpleasant surprise in their VIP lift.

Reports indicate that James, who is responsible for preparing a four-course menu for the event’s attendees, was visibly stunned as he addressed the situation and disclosed the unfortunate discovery.

Initially, the chef humorously suggested that his co-host, the former rugby star, might be the primary suspect. However, he later revealed that he had obtained CCTV footage and was determined to identify the offender.

A source recounted, “England had just secured a win against New Zealand, and the atmosphere was euphoric. Then, unexpectedly, James took the stage where Joe was conversing with rugby legends, including Warren Gatland, looking visibly shaken.”

‘He then announced that someone had done an enormous poo in the lift and that he had just been told about it. Some people were laughing their heads off but others looked horrified’.

They told The Sun: ‘He then told everyone in the suite that he had been handed the CCTV footage and is going to find out who had the audacity to drop a log in the lifts.’

The duo’s suite, which they launched in November 2024, also includes unlimited Guinness as well as interviews with rugby stars after the game.

Daily Mail have contacted James Martin and Joe Marler’s reps for comment.

It comes after Joe revealed that he was paid less than some of his co-stars, despite claims all of the cast were given the same fee.

In stark contrast to some reality shows, where salaries can vary wildly depending on the level of fame, it was thought that the cast of the hit BBC show were all given the same flat fee of £40,000.

But Joe, who as a Faithful made it all the way to the final, has now revealed that he was given less than the number that was shared.

The rugby player, was one of the breakout stars of this year’s Celebrity Traitors, and despite failing to stop Traitor Alan Carr stealing the prize fund, he was quickly cemented as a fan favourite.

Richard Osman and Marina Hyde had shared that stars were paid £40,000 on their podcast The Rest In Entertainment, and Joe said his wife Daisy heard the same.

He said: ‘Yeah, Daisy read that too. She said to me, ”Hold on, I thought you only got 30?”

‘I said, ”Yeah, I did.” No, I don’t think everyone got paid the same. But I’m not bothered. It was 30 grand whether you lasted two days or three weeks — a no-brainer.’

Alan eventually won the series after being the sole traitor to avoid banishment, and he claimed the entire £87,500 prize pot, which was donated to his chosen charity Neuroblastoma UK.

During the interview with The Times, Joe also took a swipe at fellow faithful Stephen Fry, admitting it was wrong move to form his own game plan based on the longtime presenter.

When it was noted that Stephen’s intelligence was praised, despite failing to catch any traitors, Joe added: ‘Well, my game plan originally was obviously I’ll just do what Stephen does, because he will be good at this.

‘Then after a couple of times, I realised, he’s not good at this. This is not a good plan.’
