Broadcasters Kyle Sandilands and Jackie “Jackie O” Henderson have been found to have breached decency standards by the radio industry watchdog.

The Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) has ruled two segments that aired on Melbourne‘s KISS 1011 and Sydney‘s KISS 1065 in June last year included “vulgar graphic sexualised descriptions”.

ACMA Chair Nerida O’Loughlin said the segments would be considered offensive to any “reasonable person” listening to the broadcast and were not in line with community standards.

“This content went beyond the bounds of decency expected by the community and was done so deliberately and provocatively,” O’Loughlin said.

The investigations were launched in response to a listener complaint.

Double T Radio was also found to have breached the Commercial Radio Code of Practice for not responding to a listener complaint within 30 days.

Radio station KIIS has hit back, saying the program is suitable for its “broad-minded adult demographic”.

“Even having two program censors employed by the broadcaster in place following previous ACMA enforcement action, this has not stopped occurrences of unsuitable content going to air,” O’Loughlin said.

No fines or penalties will be issued while the authority conducts further investigations into the show and network.
