They are honoring the memory of a beloved and compassionate man, who was especially cherished by his wife and two children.
Tragically, 37-year-old Sandy Singh lost his life after allegedly being hit by a ute in the early hours of Sunday morning at Dry Creek.
His brother, Sikander Singh, was present during the incident.
“We didn’t see where the car came from, it caught us completely off guard,” Sikander recounted to 9News.
Before the tragic event, Sandy had expressed a heartfelt sentiment to his brother, saying, “I’m going now, you take care of my children.”
Sandy was severely injured and died in hospital.
“I definitely thought he would be fine when the ambulance arrived but…,” Sikander recalled.
The driver of the ute allegedly returned a blood alcohol reading of 0.13 and is accused of not stopping to help.
The 22-year-old was arrested a few hours later and faced court the next day, where he was released on bail.
“We want justice, we need justice – I need justice for my kids, for his parents,” widow Parabhjit Kaur told 9News.
“He didn’t deserve this, he was very innocent man, he was very lovely man, he was a golden hearted person.”
