At only 12 years old, Detective Bryson became one of the youngest officers in the force after NSW Police partnered with Make-A-Wish Australia to grant him his wish of becoming a detective for the day.

Bryson has battled brain cancer since he was three, but today, he was working on a big case as he took part in an immersive, action-packed simulation investigation.

Detective Bryson was in full control of a police investigation after a notorious thief was on the run, last spotted in the Domain.

“It’s been very fun,” he said after solving the case.

“Everyone’s here for me, I’m so proud of myself,” he added.

Bryson solved the case on the steps of the Opera House to a huge ovation from onlookers.

When Bryson was three, he was diagnosed with medulloblastoma, a form of paediatric brain cancer, and despite going into remission, Bryson faced another medical challenge this year after being diagnosed with Gorlin Syndrome.

Despite his ongoing medical journey, Bryson remains strong and his passion for the police is enduring.

”It’s been a tough two months, but to see what Bryson’s done … it’s a once-in-a-lifetime scenario,” said Bryson’s mum, Tamara Miles.
