Season 7 of 1000-lb. Sisters sees Tammy Slaton continuing to do and try new things in life after losing 500 pounds. In Episode 3, Tammy and her sisters, Amy Slaton, Amanda Halterman, and Misty Wentworth, take a trip to a lake to go swimming. While there, Tammy gets into the water with her sisters and is able to fit inside a donut-shaped inner tube.

It’s a major milestone for Tammy, who couldn’t even get into the water when she weighed her heaviest at nearly 700 pounds. “Look at Tammy, she can fit it all the way down,” Amanda shares when Misty places the tube over her.

“I’ve always been too big to fit through the tub hole, the donut hole,” she shares in a confessional. “So I was for sure thinking it wasn’t going to fit over me, but it did, so I’m like score.”

“Since I can’t eat the donut, I guess I’ll wear it,” she jokes.

“Damn, I’m so proud of Tammy, she has finally made it in the water,” Amanda states in a confessional. “She really did the damn thing.”

After TLC shared a clip of Tammy sitting in an inner tube and even getting into the water, fans were overjoyed to witness such a major milestone in her journey.

Will Tammy Be Eligible For Surgery This Season?

After losing 500 pounds, Tammy is left with excess skin that she hopes to have surgically removed—a procedure she’s been considering since last season following her dramatic weight loss.

In Season 7, Episode 1, Tammy shares that she is still hoping she can get the surgery. “I’m ready to get this skin removed,” she tells her brother Chris.

Tammy tells Chris that she is doing everything she can to make sure she is eligible for surgery this time around. However, she has one thing holding her back: vaping.

In Episode 3, Tammy meets with her doctors to discuss her vaping. She admits she is using vapes with no nicotine, “unless I get agitated.” However, that’s not good enough for the doctor. She needs to completely stop vaping in order to get the surgery. She also learns that her protein intake is not very good. Tammy needs enough protein to heal after such a major surgery.

Last season, Tammy was given the okay to start her skin removal surgery, with doctors recommending that they start on certain parts of her body. However, she needed to quit vaping entirely to improve her nutrient levels and ensure her lungs were healthy enough for the procedure. Unfortunately, the addictive habit proved too difficult for her to give up.

“I want skin removal pretty much everywhere on my body. My legs, my stomach, my arms, my face. I wish it was possible to do all of it at once. It’s hard to walk with all of that skin. I have been waiting to hear that I can get my skin removed for so long. when I get rid of this skin, I’m gonna be a brand new me.”

In a confessional, Tammy was asked if she was worried that she wouldn’t be able to quit vaping. “I don’t want to talk about vaping. I think I might need a five ‘cause I’m gonna flip. I’m pissed now. I don’t give two s*** about it,” she shared before storming off.

Her sister, Amy, confesses that Tammy traded her food addiction for a vaping addiction, calling it her “security blanket at this point.”

Tammy Has A New Love Interest This Season

In the new season, Tammy is keeping a major secret from her family. In Episode 1, she reveals that the only person she’s confided in so far is Amy.

“There’s something I haven’t told my family. Amy’s not the only one that’s been seeing someone new, so have I,” she confesses. “I have been seeing someone for the past couple months, and it’s going pretty well. I think I want to approach this relationship differently than I have in the past, so I haven’t told my family because my family is going to have something to say about it.”

Fans learn in the first episode that Tammy is now dating a woman. She expresses that after Caleb Willingham’s passing in 2023, she is no longer interested in men. In the following episode, Tammy goes bowling and meets with her girlfriend, Andrea. She reveals it’s the first time she’s ever gone public with her girlfriend.

Tammy and Andrea seem to really like one another. However, Tammy admits that she is going to be “cautious” about their relationship because of her past of exes that have “used” her. She is also really unsure how her family will react to dating a woman.

In Episode 3, Tammy decides to tell her sisters during a trip to the lake. She learns that they don’t care who she dates as long as she’s happy.
