1000-Lb Sisters star Amy Slaton has once again opted for surgery, this time focusing on her eyes.
The 38-year-old TLC star, who previously chose gastric bypass surgery to aid in weight loss, shared her journey of addressing her lazy eye.
In a sneak peek of 1000-Lb Sisters released on February 27 by TMZ, her then-fiancé, now husband, Brian Lovvorn mentioned to the cameras, “She’s scheduled to have surgery on both eyes today.” The couple exchanged vows on Halloween last year.
Brian, 52, expressed his concerns, saying, “My biggest fear is the anesthesia because there’s always a risk of complications. I’m hoping for a positive outcome, but it’s hard to just wait and not worry.”
Slaton revealed in a 2015 YouTube video that she was diagnosed with ocular toxoplasmosis, which is described by the American Academy of Ophthalmology as “an infection of the retina and choroid caused by the intracellular parasite.”
The clip shows Amy undergoing the procedure, with doctors providing viewers with insights into what the surgery entails.

“We’re going to make an incision in the skin of the eye, up on the left side, and we’ll loosen the outside muscle,” Dr. Sean Donahue MD explained in the clip.
“We’ll then rotate the eye into the position we want it to be,” he added. “And then we’ll go over to the other side.”
Dr. Donahue said the right eye needed correction due to its “over elevation,” adding: “We’re going to correct the muscle that’s causing those eyes to drift out when she looks up and have less outward drift when she looks down.”
Slaton previously posted a TikTok that appeared to show off the results of her eye surgery in July 2025, prior to its upcoming airing, though she has a filter on her face.
On Instagram, Slaton shared a new image of herself on Friday, promoting a signing event.
“I cried when you were told your eye can be fixed..beyond happy for you…you look beautiful! 🖤🤗,” a fan wrote in the comments section.
