Nicki Aycox, best known as the original Meg Masters in the TV show Supernatural, has sadly passed away after a battle with lukemia.
Aycox first appeared in the long-running CW show in season 1 as the human host of a demon called Meg. She also appeared in season 4 of the popular fantasy drama. Rachel Miner portrayed the character in later seasons.
Born 1975, in Hennessey, Oklahoma, Aycox began her acting career with appearances in shows such as 3rd Rock from the Sun, USA High, Boy Meets World, The X-Files, and a recurring role in Providence. And in 2005, she portrayed Private Brenda “Mrs. B” Mitchell on the FX action-war drama Over There which led to her iconic Supernatural role.
Nicki Aycox had been publicly battling leukemia over several years. Now, her sister-in-law has relayed the family’s tragic news that Aycox has passed away at just 47.
“My beautiful, smart, fierce, incredibly talented, and loving sister-in-law, Nicki Aycox Raab, passed away yesterday with my brother, Matt Raab, by her side,” the statement read. “Nicki and Matt had a wonderful life together in California. She was definitely a fighter and everyone who knew her loved her.”

8/8 Nicki Aycox Battled Cancer For Over A Year
Nicki Aycox had been fighting leukemia, a cancer of the blood cells, for over a year before her death. In March 2021, the actress announced that she had started chemotherapy after being diagnosed earlier in the year.
“I became very ill thinking I had covid in Jan and Feb. well things came to a head. I ended up in a hospital diagnosed with Lukemeia,” Aycox wrote in March 2021.
In March 2022, Nicki Aycox shared with fans that she was undergoing treatment for the disease again.

In 2007, Nicki Aycox appeared in the neo-noir thriller movie Perfect Stranger, alongside Halle Berry and Bruce Willis.
Her character Grace was the childhood friend of Berry’s Rowena and the pair work together to try to talk down Willis’ wealthy advertising executive.
6/8 Nicki Aycox Appeared In The X-Files Sequel
In 2008, Nicki Aycox appeared in The X-Files: I Want to Believe, the second feature film instalment of The X-Files franchise. She had previously played a different character in the fifth episode of the seventh season of the cult sci-fi show.
In the same year, Aycox starred in Joy Ride 2: Dead Ahead the sequel to 2001’s Joy Ride.

5/8 Nicki Aycox Starred In Dark Blue
In July 2009, Nicki Aycox starred as Jaimie Allen, an undercover LAPD police officer, in the TNT action/drama series Dark Blue.
The crime drama series revolved around Dylan McDermott’s undercover cop unit in LA. She played a part in his team as a green patrol cop recruited into the undercover unit because of her dark past and criminal skills.
The show was cancelled in September 2010 after two seasons. It also starred Tricia Helfer, Omari Hardwick and Logan Marshall Green

Nicki Aycox final acting role came in the 2014 TV movie Dead on Campus, where she played the career counselor Danielle Williams.
The plot centers around the apparent suicide of a shy, introverted nerd and what happens when his older sister discovers a connection between his death and a popular sorority house.

Nicki Aycox’s last post on Instagram was a video of her singing Whitesnake’s 80s rock hit “Here I Go Again” from her hospital bed. It was posted on March 25.
She captioned the video, “STOP! DO NOT attempt to sing ’80s music after taking high doses of chemo☠️will cause memory loss,” along with tags like “#alwayskeepfighting,” “#cancersucks” and “#chemowarrior.”
She bravely documented her illness and her treatments on her Instagram page.
