90 Day Fiancé S11: Shawn Finch's Uncertainty With Alliya De Batista's Surgeries Puts Their Future in Jeopardy

Unfortunately, for the people who’ve starred in the 90 Day Fiancé franchise over the years, many of them have gone through a lot of strife. After all, stars of the reality show franchise have faced alleged false accusations, have been forced to deal with fans not believing in them, and one even had a cause of death report about him. Not only that, 90 Day Fiancé stars who signed NDAs have also faced nasty divorces and gone on to find themselves in new relationships as they mourn their past breakup.

When 90 Day Fiancé fans were introduced to Alliya de Batista and Shawn Finch, they didn’t know if they would also have to deal with a lot of drama. As it turns out, however, their relationship now seems to be in question as Shawn is questioning Alliya’s desire to get multiple surgeries.

Why Shawn Finch Is Struggling With Alliya De Batista’s Desire To Get Several Surgeries

Unfortunately for Alliya de Batista and Shawn Finch, many of those fans have questioned their relationship. One of the main reasons why it seemed entirely possible that Alliya and Shawn’s relationship may not last is because of his actions. After all, the fact that Shawn didn’t tell people in his life about Alliya has to be considered highly questionable.

However, there is no denying that some couples have overcome things that were bigger than keeping a relationship a secret. However, a recent episode gave 90 Day Fiancé fans another reason to think the couple may not last, as Shawn expressed distress at Alliya’s desire to get several surgeries.

That article quoted Shawn talking about why he was struggling with Alliya wanting to undergo more surgical procedures to continue transitioning.

“Aliyah contemplating surgical procedures, it is difficult for me because I think every move that she makes closer to Aaliyah moves further from the original relationship, and that sometimes feels hard for me. ”

For those that don’t remember, Shawn and Alliya began their relationship before she began transitioning into the woman she is now.

During the same episode, Shawn elaborated on why Alliya transitioning was difficult for him to deal with emotionally.

In March 2025, a Collider article argued that Shawn Finch and Alliya de Batista were one 90 Day Fiancé couple that needed to break up. To back up that opinion, the outlet’s writer brought up Shawn cheating on Alliya and how he reacted to her transitioning as reasons they shouldn’t be together.

While talking about Alliya continuing to transition, Shawn spoke about not knowing how he would feel as the surgical processes proceed.

I fell for a man and I don’t know how I’m going to feel once every nuance of that person… has been erased.

In May 2025, the 90 Day Fiancé Facebook page posted a clip of the same episode. That clip showed the couple meeting with a doctor to discuss the prospect of Alliya getting several surgical procedures.

Alliya De Batista and Shawn Finch initially joined the 90 Day Fiancé franchise when they began starring in 90 Day Fiancé: Love in Paradise.

During that video, Shawn could be seen speaking about Alliya’s escalating desire for surgeries to help her transition.

In the beginning, there was just the, I’m gonna add a little something to my butt, and now we’re doing a lot.

After making that comment, Shawn’s attitude seemed to change.

While talking in front of Alliya to the doctor, Shawn seemed much more supportive of the prospect of her undergoing more surgeries.

“I mean, I think she’s beautiful just the way she is, but if this is, you know, little more and more and more towards her eventual goal of being one hundred percent her, then I’m here for it.”

It is worth noting that it may not be a coincidence that Shawn seemed to have a different perspective on the prospect of more surgeries at that moment. After all, Shawn made that comment in front of Alliya and her doctor.

Some of Shawn’s comments that were against the idea of Alliya getting more procedures done were made as a part of confessional interviews away from his partner.

Alliya De Batista Told Her Doctor What Surgeries She Still Wants To Get

As a part of the aforementioned Facebook video, Alliya de Batista could be seen talking to her doctor about the surgeries she would like to get. For anyone interested in Alliya’s potential future, those comments were very revealing.

After being asked about where she is in her transition process in the clip, Alliya began by explaining how she wants to feel about herself when the process is complete.

“I wanna do things like [procedures] or hormones. Something that can help me to look more feminine so when I look in the mirror, I look to myself, and I feel happy.”

As the conversation continued in the clip, Alliya revealed that she would like to get the brow area of her face restructured because she doesn’t like the way the bone in that area looks. Alliya also stated that she would like to learn more about breast implants.

“I think my face, the thing that is bugging me is this bone here. And now that I’m here, I really wanna know also about breast implants.”

As a part of Sportskeeda’s aforementioned video, it is revealed that Alliya also asked the doctor about getting bottom surgery while talking about her “gender assignment.”
