Since the first season of The Pitt premiered, the hit TV show has been an absolute sensation with fans. There are many reasons why fans love The Pitt so much, like the fact that the show features incredibly meaningful scenes and lines of dialogue that are very powerful. Ultimately, The Pitt is widely regarded as one of the best medical shows ever, which is why there have been talks about possible spin-offs and a second season is being produced.
Among The Pitt’s most passionate fans, there are a lot of questions about the plans for the show’s second season. Thankfully, fans recently got some answers to one question when several new actors were announced to be featured during The Pitt’s second season.
Which Breaking Bad Actor Is Joining The Pitt Season 2
When people talk about the best shows ever produced, there are certain series that are bound to be part of the conversation. Even though only a single season of the show has aired so far, some people could argue that The Pitt deserves to be considered one of the best shows ever.
If The Pitt wants to be a major part of the best show ever conversation in the years to come, one thing the show’s producers could do is add more talented actors to the cast. With that in mind, it would make perfect sense for The Pitt to hire actors from a show that is almost always talked about as one of the best shows of all-time.
As it turns out, the team behind The Pitt was smart enough to do exactly that for the show’s second season. After all, the second season of The Pitt will feature a memorable actor from Breaking Bad.
In June 2025, Forbes published an article about the actors that are being added to The Pitt’s second season cast.

That article revealed that Charles Baker will appear during The Pitt’s second season as a character named Troy. According to Forbes, Troy is “an unhoused man forgotten by most, and a patient in the ED.”
Years before joining the cast of The Pitt, Charles portrayed Skinny Pete, a friend of Jesse Pinkman, during several episodes of Breaking Bad. Charles later reprised his celebrated Breaking Bad role for the spin-off movie El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie.
In August 2013, Charles Baker told The Hollywood Reporter how he felt when his Breaking Bad character kept appearing and was given a name. “That was when I went from being just a day player to being a character on the show. That was the biggest compliment you can get — to get a name.”
While Charles is best known for his role on Breaking Bad, he has a very long list of other credits in his IMDb filmography. For example, Charles has landed roles on other shows like One Piece, Prison Break, The Blacklist, Chicago P.D., Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Lethal Weapon, The Rookie, 1883, and The Mandalorian.
How Laëtitia Hollard And Lucas Iverson’s Casting Is Keeping A The Pitt Tradition Alive
When The Pitt was announced, the show was promoted around one thing. Everyone was talking about The Pitt because Noah Wyle was starring in a medical drama again while teaming with some of the people who worked behind-the-scenes on ER.
Probably because the show could revolve around Noah’s medical show return, it seemed like that freed up The Pitt’s casting team in a major way.
As of the time of this writing, the exact premiere date for The Pitt’s second season hasn’t been revealed. However, a June 2025 TV Guide article states that The Pitt’s second season is set to premiere in January 2026.
After all, The Pitt stars several actors who were completely unknown on the national stage before the show became a hit. One notable example of that is Patrick Ball. Before being cast as The Pitt’s Dr. Frank Langdon, Patrick’s only credit on IMDb was appearing in an episode of Law & Order.
Laëtitia Hollard’s casting in The Pitt’s second season is keeping that tradition alive since her only IMDb credit to date is appearing in a 2022 short film called Transaster. Laëtitia also has a credit for another short film called Ravel, but that hasn’t been released yet.
According to Forbes’ article, Laëtitia will be playing a character named Emma during The Pitt’s second season. The article describes Emma as “a recent nursing school graduate, who some may consider naive.”
Before Lucas Iverson landed his upcoming The Pitt role, he had even less experience than Laëtitia since he doesn’t have any IMDb credits. Forbes’ article states that Lucas will be portraying “James, a fourth-year medical student” during The Pitt’s second season.
Who Was Irene Choi Before Her The Pitt Casting?
Unlike Charles Baker, who has a very noteworthy role, or Lucas Iverson and Laëtitia Hollard, who are newbies, Irene Choi was experienced but still searching for her big break. Thankfully for Irene and her fans, it seems like she might have found it with her The Pitt Season 2 casting.
Based on Forbes’ article, it seems like Irene will have a substantial role during The Pitt’s second season as she will be playing a character named Joy.
The article describes Joy as a third-year medical student. More importantly, the article gives a very vivid description of what Joy will be like as a character. “[A] medical student with strong boundaries and a vast knowledge of medicine that leans toward the macabre.”
According to IMDb, Irene Choi began her acting career in 2009 with appearances in a pair of short films. From there, Irene became a staple of the television scene by landing roles in many notable TV shows.
Irene has appeared in shows like Entourage, Parenthood, How I Met Your Mother, NCIS: Los Angeles, CSI: Cyber, Grey’s Anatomy, Shameless, and The Good Doctor.
Irene is best known for two roles she memorably played on a pair of TV shows.
In 2018 and 2019, Irene starred in two seasons of the Netflix comedy Insatiable. Irene also portrayed Annie Kim, a major rival of Alison Brie’s character Annie Edison, in several episodes of Community.
