The Dr. Phil Show is finally coming to an end after more than two decades on air. CBS said it will launch a new “strategic prime-time partnership” with the longtime host in early 2024. The talk show, on air since 2002, is known for interviewing guests with unconventional stories. Phil McGraw, once a licensed psychologist, started his career in TV as a life coach on The Oprah Winfrey Show in the 1990s before Winfrey helped him bag his own show.
In the news release by CBS Media Ventures, the programme’s production company, McGraw said he has been “blessed with over 25 wonderful years in daytime television.”
“With this show, we have helped thousands of guests and millions of viewers through everything from addiction and marriage to mental wellness and raising children,” the 72-year-old said. “This has been an incredible chapter of my life and career, but while I’m moving on from daytime, there is so much more I wish to do.”
This talk show has generated plenty of controversy over its years on air. No topic and no guest were off limits when it came to The Dr. Phil Show, so it’s no surprise that it created so many unforgettable moments. Here are 8 of the most memorable guests on The Dr. Phil Show.
8 Danielle Bregoli AKA Bhad Bhabie
One of the most iconic guests in the history of the show is Danielle and her signature “cash me outside” catchphrase.
Danielle’s mom came to Dr. Phil because her daughter was completely out of control, and she didn’t know what else to do. Danielle bragged about stealing her mom’s credit card and car as well as threatening Dr. Phil and the audience.
Dr Phil sympathized with her, believing her behavior was because of her parent’s divorce and her mother survived cancer twice.
Danielle shot to international fame when videos of her bad behavior went viral. She now performs under the stage name Bhad Bhabie. In 2017, she became the youngest female rapper ever to appear on the Billboard Hot 100 chart with her debut single.
On April 1, 2021, six days after her eighteenth birthday, Bregoli opened an OnlyFans account and earned over $1 million in the first six hours.
7 Burke Ramsey, Brother Of JonBennet
Burke Ramsey’s appearance on The Dr. Phil Show stirred up a lot of controversy when it aired in 2016.
The older brother of late child pageant star JonBennet appeared on the show to share his side of the story on the 20th anniversary of her death. He was the only family member to not publicly address his sister’s death. His interview only brought up more questions than answers with many questioning his behavior.
He appeared to smile when describing the events surrounding his sister’s death, although Dr. Phil states that Burke was just nervous.
6 Teen Murderer Zachary Davis
Zachary Davis may be Dr. Phil’s most disturbing guest. Zachary was only 15 years old, when he bludgeoned his mother to death with a sledgehammer.
He calmly and monotonously recounted his actions and the grizzly murder of his mother in this 2015 interview. He claims he did it after she failed to take his claims of abuse by his older brother seriously.
He claims he used a sledgehammer because “I was worried that I’d miss” and using that type of weapon gave him the “highest chance of killing her”. It’s one of the most chilling interviews to date.
5 Disturbing 12-Year-Old Aneska
Twelve-year-old Aneska was so disturbingly violent that her parents and her sibling no longer wanted to be near her. Though she looked “cute and innocent,” her mother claimed that she held the family “in a constant state of crisis,” calling her “explosive, violent, and aggressive.”
She threatened her parents and siblings on numerous occasions, bludgeoned their pet hamster to death and deliberately killed a nest of baby birds.

An update at the end of the 2016 episode revealed that a doctor discovered abnormal activity in her brain and prescribed a new medication. Her family believe her terrifying behavior started when she fell off her bike at three years old.
4 Pregnant With Jesus
In 2016, a teenager named Haley appeared on the show to reveal to the world that she was nine months pregnant with Baby Jesus.
She was 100% sure about being pregnant and the identity of the baby. She failed multiple pregnancy tests and a pelvic exam which said she wasn’t pregnant. An ultrasound also showed no evidence that Haley was ever pregnant.
“I don’t care what the home pregnancy test or a doctor says, when I give birth to my baby, no one is going to deny him because he’s my savior,” she told Dr. Phil.
She also insisted Eminem was her father and that she had appeared on American Idol. Her family warned the show that she was a “compulsive liar.” In 2017, she admitted it was a phantom pregnancy caused by trapped wind. Haley returned to the show after seeking help in a residential treatment program.
3 Sexy Vegan
Sexy Vegan made a memorable appearance on the talk show in 2017, after his family complained about his bizarre behavior. He was actually removed from the show for using excessive profanity.
Originally called Hansel Marion DeBartolo III, he changed his name to Sexy Vegan and had the words tattooed on his forehead. According to his family, he walked around wearing speedos and carrying a full length mirror in front of him.
When Sexy Vegan appeared on the show he had a memorable look with blue hair, face tattoos and no eyebrows. The guest, who came with his own theme song, believed his mother should give him more of his father’s inheritance because he was too attractive to get a job.
He made headlines again in 2019, after posting inappropriate acts with animals online. He told arresting officers that his occupation was “2020 presidential candidate”.
2 The Guy Who Swears He Writes Taylor Swift’s Songs
Despite being 23 when he spoke to Dr. Phil, Riley claimed to have written hundreds of songs. One of the biggest known songs he claims to have written is Taylor Swift’s “Shake It Off.”
Swift’s mother is actually a personal friend of Dr. Phil and confirmed that she did not know the man, who has not been credited for any of the songs he allegedly wrote.
When asked why Taylor Swift had never met the man writing her songs, he finally admitted drug use may have clouded his thinking. “I definitely admit that there’s some questionable thought process going on. I’ve had to take into consideration that I might be wrong,” he said.
He later admitted, “I do believe that Taylor Swift and I are soul mates, and I love her with the kind of love that you would want forever and always.”
1 Patricia Who Faked Cancer
Jessica appeared on the Dr. Phil Show to confront her mother, Patricia, who she claimed lied about terminal illnesses.
Patricia claimed to have suffered 17 strokes, flat lined twice in the past year and at one point in the hospital lost 100 pounds in six days. She also told Dr. Phil that she had her face, ear and jaw removed during surgery, as well as revealed she is a world champion dead weight lifter.
“I have 12 titles in weightlifting, and I have cancer,” Patricia announced on the show.
Although Patricia had undergone brain surgery once, it wasn’t because of cancer, and she apparently left hospital unaided. She had used her lies to scam people out of money.
