Abby Elliott of ‘The Bear’ Divorces After 10 Years of Marriage

After nearly a decade of marriage, Abby Elliott has decided to part ways with her husband, producer Bill Kennedy.

The 39-year-old actress, recognized for her role as Natalie in the popular FX series “The Bear,” officially filed for divorce last Friday. This development was confirmed by documents acquired by TMZ.

Elliott cited “irreconcilable differences” as the cause for their separation, which she noted began on July 8.

In her filing, Elliott requested joint legal and physical custody of their two children, Edith, 5, and William, 3, both of whom were born during their marriage.

Furthermore, Elliott is seeking spousal support from Kennedy while petitioning the court to deny him any similar compensation.

She has also requested that the producer pay her legal fees.

A rep for Elliott did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment.

Elliott and Kennedy first met on set of the 2014 movie “Sex Ed,” which he had written. She starred in the film alongside Glen Powell, Haley Joel Osment and Lorenza Izzo.

Shortly after meeting, they struck up a romance, and in October 2015, he proposed.

“We’ve been dating for a year-and-a-half, I think. It was a surprise,” she told the Knot in a past interview.

She said Kennedy popped the question “in our apartment and it was beautiful. There were flowers everywhere.”

“It was really beautiful and he was traditional and got down on one knee. It was just very simple, but lovely and wonderful.”

The following year — in September 2016 — Elliott and Kennedy tied the knot during a church ceremony in New England.

Elliott and Kennedy welcomed their first child, Edith, in October 2020, and second child, William, in June 2023.

Elliott, who was a cast member on “Saturday Night Live” from 2008 through 2012, has starred in films like 2011’s “No Strings Attached,” 2014’s “Life Partners” and 2022’s “Cheaper By The Dozen.” She’s also appeared in TV shows such as “2 Broke Girls,” “How I Met Your Mother” and “King Of The Hill.”

Kennedy, meanwhile, is known for being a producer and writer on TV shows like “House Of Cards,” “Tell Me Lies” and “The Morning Show.”
