Nicky Katt, who was best known for his roles in Richard Linklater’s 1993 movie “Dazed and Confused,” 2000’s “Boiler Room” and the TV series “Boston Public,” has died. He was 54.

Katt’s death was confirmed to Page Six by John Sloss, founder and partner at Sloss Law, the firm that provided the actor’s legal representation.

His cause of death was not immediately available.

The news was first reported by Deadline.

Katt, who was born on May 11, 1970, also starred in Steven Soderbergh’s 2002 film “Full Frontal” alongside Julia Roberts and Brad Pitt and in the 2013 Liberace biopic “Behind the Candelabra.”

In “Full Frontal,” Katt played an egotistical actor portraying Adolf Hitler in a fictional play called “The Sound and the Fuhrer.”

Soderbergh praised Katt’s performance during an interview with the Los Angeles Times in 2002, saying he was “absolutely fearless” as an actor.

Katt also told the outlet that the role gave him an opportunity to pour the frustrations he had experienced as an actor pursuing roles into one character.

“There’s so much desperation in the air, in Los Angeles especially. You don’t notice it in New York as much,” he said.

“Everybody plays it a little cooler there, and people have a lot more interaction with each other. I think Stanley Kubrick called the vibe in LA a ‘low-level malevolence.’ It eats away at you at some point.”

In “Dazed and Confused,” Katt starred as high school bully Clint Bruno, who picks a fight with Adam Goldberg’s character Mike Newhouse.

On the small screen, he played geology teacher Harry Senate in the Fox drama series “Boston Public” for its first three seasons. He also appeared in an episode of “Friends” in 1996.

While Katt had many memorable roles throughout his career, his final role came in 2018 when he appeared in an episode of the Hulu comedy series “Casual,” according to his IMDb.

Katt was married to Annie Morse from 1999 to 2001.
