Adrian Grenier recently took a playful jab at his exclusion from “The Devil Wears Prada 2” in a fresh Starbucks advertisement.

The 49-year-old actor appears in the coffee giant’s latest commercial for their Energy Refresher drinks, humorously addressing his absence from the sequel by referencing his role as Nate Cooper.

“You might have seen the headlines — I wasn’t asked to be part of a certain sequel,” Grenier admits, gazing directly into the camera. “But I’m good. Really. It’s all good energy.”

He then raises a toast to Nate, who was the boyfriend of the main character, Andy Sachs, in the iconic 2006 film. Some fans view Nate as the real antagonist of the story, criticizing his lack of support for Andy.

“He made a mean sandwich, he loved his girlfriend, to a point,” Grenier quips, alluding to the famous grilled cheese Nate prepared for Andy in a memorable scene.

“He wasn’t perfect,” Grenier adds. “So let’s leave Nate in 2006, and keep this good energy going.”

He later jokes, “I mean if they call, I’m free.”

Grenier spoke to Page Six last month about not appearing in “The Devil Wears Prada 2” alongside Anne Hathaway (who plays Andy), and he theorized that the “backlash” to his character got him snubbed from the sequel.

The “Entourage” alum told us he “of course” would have loved to participate in the second movie, which hits theaters on May 1.

“We’re all fans of the movie, whether or not we’re in it,” he said. “Obviously, it was a disappointment that I didn’t get the call to be in the sequel, but I also understand there’s some backlash with Nate, the character, so that might have something to do with it.”

“But I think that just leaves room for a spinoff,” he added.

Grenier told People last month that he would love to see Nate’s story continued.

“I do think it would be fun to see if Nate is actually the devil in ‘The Devil Wears Prada,’” he said. “I’d like to see him, see what his character does, beyond, as a spinoff movie.”

He also defended Nate’s actions in the movie, like breaking up with Andy when she missed his birthday dinner due to prioritizing the demands of her boss, Runway Magazine editor Miranda Priestly (played by Meryl Streep).

“I don’t look to a birthday as a big meaningful thing, but agreements, I do,” he explained. “If someone makes a commitment, I do take it seriously that the commitment gets upheld. So, it’s not so much about the birthday per se.”

“I can understand the sentiment, but I have to stand for my character,” Grenier also shared. “I’ve re-watched that film a bunch of times, and it feels like they were both just working really hard to make it in their careers.”
