Actor Alec Baldwin is hopeful he will lead an improved “quality of life” following hip replacement surgery,
The 65-year-old is currently recovering in the hospital from an operation after he struggled with “intense chronic pain”.
The Hollywood star’s wife Hilaria Baldwin, 39, took to her Instagram account today and shared a health update with her 998,000 followers.
She shared an image alongside Alec, who looked drowsy while he rested on a pillow in a hospital gown with wires attached, as she lay beside him.
“Alec got a new hip today… it was a long time necessary,” she wrote.

“We have been through so much together… as your partner and as you heal, I want so very much for you to leave this very intense chronic pain chapter behind and improve your quality of life,” she continued.
She then thanked all the doctors, nurse and hospital staff who cared for her husband.
The star’s partner added: “Grateful to Dr Davidovitch, Dr Miller, Dr Golden, Dr. Furgiuele, the nurses, pt, ot, staff and the other amazing people who so generously are bringing him safely through this.”
Although comments on the post were limited one of the first to respond was Alec himself.
“And you. Thanks to you,” the actor replied, implying that she should add herself to the list of thanks.
Rather than address his health woes on his own social media account, Alec’s most recent Instagram post yesterday was promoting the latest edition of his podcast Here’s The Thing.
The operation rounds off what has been an intense period for the star, who first came to prominence in the film Beetlejuice in 1988.
He faced massive scrutiny after the fatal shooting of 42-year-old cinematographer Halyna Hutchins with a prop gun on the set of the Western Rust in October 2021.
Although he pled not guilty he was charged with two counts of involuntary manslaughter in late January, however, these charges were dropped last month.
He later returned to the set of the film and posted to thank fans for their support when filming commenced.
At the moment there is still no official release date for the movie.
Alec has already started work on other projects including a film called Kent State which deals with a school shooting.
It tells the true story of a tragedy that occurred in Ohio on May 4, 1970.
Four students were shot and killed by the National Guard during a campus protest about the Vietnam War.
The Hollywood Reporter claimed Alec will star as Kent State President Robert White in the upcoming movie.
The film is currently listed as in pre-production and it is not yet known when filming will begin.
