This Morning presenter Alison Hammond is set to join TV royalty as she takes part in a special comedy sketch for Comic Relief. The ITV star has joined the likes of Dame Joan Collins and Simon Cowell for the Red Nose Day video.
The clip shows several celebrities, including Comic Relief veteran Sir Lenny Henry, encouraging the public to “do something funny for money”. The video also shows each star discussing what they could do to raise funds for the charity.
At the start of the video sketch, Sir Lenny could be seen putting ideas on the drawing board as he spoke to someone on the phone. “Ok, like I said in the email, we want this to be the best Red Nose Day ever,” the comedian said.
“Everybody’s got to do something funny for money, so what have you got?” he asked. The clip then cut to Alison on the other end of the phone call, who was looking stylish in a star-patterned blue and red top.
Seemingly misunderstanding Sir Lenny’s question, the presenter replied: “Babes, I’ve got loads of ideas. I’m an iconic ‘hun’ after all. Something ‘hunny’ for money?”
“Alison, it’s ‘something funny for money,” Lenny replied, to which Alison then responded: “Oh… Right, I missed that one.”
The comedy sketch also saw a glamorous-looking Dame Joan speak to Sir Lenny from her living room sofa.
The Hollywood icon said: “Lenny, darling, I’m so excited for Red Nose Day.
“Actually, I’m just about to take off for my sponsored skydive,” the 90-year-old star added, causing Sir Lenny to pull a face of mock concern.
Meanwhile, Simon told Sir Lenny: “I’ve got it. I’m going to listen to Amanda Holden’s covers album for a week, non-stop.”
Responding to Simon’s cheeky dig at his fellow Britain’s Got Talent judge, Sir Lenny asked: “What’s that got to do with raising money?”
“Um…” Simon said with a long pause. “Well it’s definitely something funny.”
