In a surprising turn of events, Kyle Cooke and Amanda Batula, the well-known couple from the hit show Summer House, have officially announced their separation. This revelation was made public on Monday, but according to those close to the couple, the split actually occurred several months prior to the announcement.

Speculation about their breakup had been circulating online, suggesting that Kyle, 43, and Amanda, 34, went their separate ways before June of last year. This coincided with the beginning of filming for the show’s tenth season. While some sources confirmed these rumors, others provided additional insights into the timeline and circumstances surrounding their separation.

An insider shared with Us Weekly on January 21 that the couple had been facing persistent issues throughout the summer. It was in the fall that they ultimately decided to part ways. Interestingly, the source revealed that Kyle and Amanda were “technically” separated during BravoCon, yet chose to keep their breakup private at the time.

The source also disclosed that Amanda, who became engaged to Kyle in 2018 and married him in 2021, reached her “breaking point” following an incident where Kyle was reportedly found “sleeping at a fan’s house.” This development appears to have been a significant factor in Amanda’s decision to move into a new apartment and ultimately end the relationship.

According to the source, Amanda, who got engaged to Kyle in 2018 and wed in 2021, hit her “breaking point” after her spouse was caught “sleeping at a fan’s house.”

“[Amanda] realized that Kyle’s behavior was not changing,” the insider explained. “[He was still] staying out late and partying like he is in his 20’s, and not understanding her needs after they had multiple conversations.”

“She felt unheard and emotionally exhausted,” the source went on. “[They] realized they are on different pages and don’t want the same things in life anymore.”

While Kyle is reportedly “deeply upset by the separation and didn’t expect things to reach this point,” the insider said he “understood he cannot be what Amanda wants.”

Though the insider claimed Kyle felt that there was “still time to work through their issues,” he now realizes that his upcoming tour doesn’t allow any free time to mend the relationship.

“[Amanda] wants to settle down,” the source shared. “They are on completely different wavelengths. Over time, it became impossible to ignore that they were no longer aligned.”

Kyle and Amanda’s split was “not shocking” to their friends, the insider confirmed, because it was “a long time coming.” Still, their inner circle was said to be “sad” about the breakup.

“[Amanda] got her own apartment in New York City and has been living there for two months now,” the source continued. 

Now, as Amanda prioritizes her mental health, she’s pouring herself into the work she is passionate about and “realizing how independent she is and how unfulfilled she was in her marriage.”

“[She was] finally done feeling disappointed by him,” they stated. “[She] wants to divorce but neither of them have lawyers or anything in place.”

As Summer House fans hope to learn more about the moments that led up to Kyle and Amanda’s split in the new season, another source told xoxo Bravo Girl on Instagram that they actually broke up around the start date of production.

“[I] heard the talk that the split had happened prior to June,” they alleged.
