What unfolds when celebrated actresses Amanda Peet and Drew Barrymore find themselves under the same roof at Carrie Fisher’s residence? Apparently, a headline-grabbing A-list makeout session!
During a nostalgic conversation on the April 6 episode of The Drew Barrymore Show, Barrymore, now 51, couldn’t help but wonder aloud, “I miss the eighties. By the way, did we make out at Carrie Fisher’s house?” Her question was directed at Peet, 54, as they fondly recalled past escapades.
With a playful grin, Peet replied, “I … feel like that might have happened.” The exchange was lighthearted, but it certainly piqued the interest of viewers.
In a moment of cheeky camaraderie, Barrymore grasped Peet’s hand, leaned in, and remarked, “It’s so nice to see you again,” adding a touch of humor and warmth to their reunion.
As Peet laughed over the Hollywood moment, Barrymore shed a little more light on the encounter.
She explained that the late Star Wars actress, who died in 2016 at the age of 60, was known for her iconic parties, and this one in particular had a Friends alum in attendance.
“I feel like Matthew Perry was there?” Barrymore said.
“Yes, he was!” Peet enthusiastically replied.
Barrymore exclaimed, “It was at Carrie Fisher’s house!” hinting that all of her bashes were as memorable as the one in which she and Peet shared a smooch.
“Listen, again, life used to be so much more fun,” Barrymore said with a laugh.
After Peet asked if they both felt like the past was more fun because they’d gotten older, Barrymore mused, “There is that. I guess maybe you also grow out of that kind of behavior?”
The talk show host noted that growing up comes with the territory “especially when you become a parent,” adding, “That changed me entirely.”
Peet, who recently revealed her breast cancer diagnosis, joked, “I’m still probably messy and silly,” before agreeing that “yes” parenthood does change one’s perception.
Monday’s episode wasn’t the first time that the Never Been Kissed actress gushed about the wild nights she enjoyed at one of Fisher’s infamous parties.
Two years after Fisher’s passing, Barrymore revealed she was “glad” she survived all the events she was invited to at the late star’s lavish home.
“I loved going to her house. It was like a hacienda type of, like, beautiful home off of Coldwater Canyon, very Los Angeles,” Barrymore recalled during a 2018 appearance on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen. “She just had a very open home. I’d been there for parties, her office in the daytime. It was classic, Spanish, California — sunshine, orange groves, and creativity.”
Looking back, Barrymore confessed she was “proud to say I came and went, because I feel like a lot of people stayed.”
She revealed, “I remember Garry Shandling being weird in the driveway. And I was like, ‘I’m so glad I’m going home! I’m so glad I’m surviving these kind of nights.’”
