Rachel throws a lively gathering while Bozoma undergoes an egg retrieval procedure in the latest episode of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. Amanda candidly discusses the heartbreaking loss of her son, yet Dorit, driven by anger, confronts Amanda with probing questions.

RHOBH Recap: Amanda Opens Up About Losing Her Son as Dorit Confronts Her Over Comments on Her Divorce; Sutton Faces Off With Jennifer as Rachel Hosts an Event While Bozoma Heads to Vegas for an Egg Retrieval

Rachel finds herself in her element as she indulges in her passion for vintage clothing. She jokingly describes her shopping habit as a “disease,” adding that when she immerses herself in this world, money seems to lose its meaning. Her shopping spree is momentarily interrupted when Bozoma arrives, prompting Rachel to pause her retail therapy.

Bozoma shares the positive news about her recent ultrasound, revealing she has six viable egg follicles ready for retrieval. Excited by this development, she plans a trip to Las Vegas with her boyfriend, Keely, to proceed with the egg retrieval process. Consequently, she will miss Rachel’s upcoming psychic-themed party.

Although disappointed that Bozoma won’t attend, Rachel understands her friend’s absence. This leaves her to deal with Amanda, whose calculated nature is apparent. Rachel reflects on Amanda’s recent actions, particularly the rumors about Avi, which Amanda intended to use to create drama but ultimately backfired.

Rachel is bummed Boz won’t be there, but totally understands. Now she will be stuck with systematic Amanda and it’s very clear that nothing Amanda does is accidental.  Take the Avi rumor, for instance.  Amanda was trying to stir up a problem, but it backfired on her.

When Rachel learns that Amanda refers to herself as the “money queen,” she is aghast, especially because Amanda has no background with money before all of this.  Rachel is having a hard time wrapping her mind around Amanda’s authenticity.

When we get a glimpse inside Amanda’s (rented) Newport Beach home, we see a different side of her.  She talks to her husband about how she now likes Erika and about the Avi situation.  She then opens up about the loss of her son three years ago.  Her youngest son was born a twin, but after five days in the NICU, one of the twins died in Amanda’s arms the first time she got to hold him.  This is absolutely gut wrenching.

The anniversary of his death is always hard in her home since she is celebrating a birthday earlier in the week and then mourning later on. It turns out the anniversary falls on the day of Rachel’s party, but Amanda has decided it is better to be surrounded by friends in an instance like this.

Dorit is out with her “new management.” Since she has separated from PK, she needs a new start.  Dorit is ready to work and she is preparing to write her memoir. It will be helpful for her to process all that she has been through  and it will give her a chance to literally move into a new chapter.

Kyle and Sutton head into a 159 degree sauna. It sure brings them back to the hot hike they had in Sedona. Kyle talks about Jennifer venting to her about Sutton’s behavior.  When Sutton snapped at Jennifer, Jennifer told Kyle that it’s always about Sutton and she understands why Garcelle is no longer friends with her.  That cuts Sutton.

Kyle goes on to say that Jennifer called Sutton problematic and Sutton wants to understand why Jennifer would say this.

Boz and Keely have landed in Las Vegas, ready for their egg retrieval journey. She is emotional, considering she never had a smooth pregnancy before. She worries about Keely’s satisfaction in their relationship if this does not work, but hopes for the best.

In the meantime, back in California, the power is out at Rachel’s house, just in time for the guests to arrive. As she pivots and lights a couple thousand candles,  Amanda and Kyle roll up together and discuss the psychic. Kyle hopes this psychic does not have an electronic cigarette and Amanda explains the importance of today’s date.  She tells Kyle this is the anniversary of the death of her son, so she may be a bit distracted.

Due to the power outage, Kathy goes to Sutton’s house to get ready while Sutton rides with Erika to the party. Sutton is preparing to confront Jennifer about what Kyle filled her in on. All she wants to know is WHY Jennifer said that. Sutton now feels a bit betrayed, considering she would rather have Jennifer come to her first with any issue.

Rachel greets her guests and she has invited her new friend, Natalie, in her “expensive ho dress.” Rachel refers to Jennifer as a walking museum of fashion and even SHE is in awe of her. Sutton is quite awkward around Jennifer, since she clearly needs to settle some issues.  She is also stand-offish towards Amanda, for obvious reasons.

Dorit is so proud to announce her new book deal and is loving the support from the ladies (finally). Well, from everyone except Amanda, who sh*ts all over the fact that Dorit is going to have a ghost writer.  Maybe Amanda can “learn how to read the room,” in the words of Dorit. Rachel wonders why Amanda is so demeaning.

In the meantime, Sutton tells Dorit that Amanda has a lot to say about how she is handling her divorce.  According to Amanda, Dorit is talking TOO much to TOO many people about PK and his alcoholism.  Dorit is annoyed, considering Amanda is so kind to her face.

Sutton sits down with Jennifer and asks her point blank why she said Sutton always stirs up trouble. She also mentions the Garcelle comment.  Jennifer admits that she was venting to Kyle (and knows she got caught), but she felt badly that Sutton snapped at her.  Jennifer thinks this might’ve been what Garcelle experienced and can understand why Garcelle felt how she did in the end.

Sutton explains that she is trying hard not to be reactive. Jennifer understands that she should not have been talking to Kyle about her feelings, but rather take her issues to Sutton directly.  Jennifer and Sutton hug it out and move on.

After a few tarot card readings, Rachel brings the ladies in for dinner.  With Boz’s permission, Rachel shares that Boz got two eggs and everyone cheers.  Rachel is grateful to be a new girl in this group.

Speaking of new girls, Amanda excuses herself to go get her reading from the psychic. Amanda asks if the psychic is also a medium, in hopes of her son coming through to her.  Amanda never gets that feeling the way her husband does and she is desperately trying to find a way to connect with him.

While at the table, Kyle asks Sutton how things went with Jennifer.  The nosy crew smells a potential issue and they all jump in.  Jennifer and Sutton talk out what happened and sweep it under the rug since they have moved on.

Since they are talking about issues, Dorit takes this moment to ask Amanda what her take is on discussing a divorce.  Dorit is not happy with Amanda’s concerns over the way she speaking about PK and Amanda wastes no time roping Kyle into this mess.

Amanda claims they spoke about the situation with Dorit and then lets the group know that she is “holding on by a thread.”  Amanda fills them in on today’s anniversary and everyone is shocked.  They had NO idea that three years ago today, Amanda lost her son.

Normally, a person would hear this and back off, but not Dorit.  She states she wants to have this conversation another time, but wonders why Amanda would have such an opinion about her, since she does not even know her very well.  Dorit wonders if Amanda hijacked Kyle’s thoughts and made them her own.

Amanda is appalled that this is continuing even after she opened up about the death of her son.  She calls Dorit unkind, but Dorit claims she is simply being conversational.  An upset Amanda goes to leave the party and Kyle follows.  Dorit wishes that Amanda told them that today was the anniversary and Amanda is upset that Dorit came at her. Amanda believes that Dorit should have ended the conversation the moment she mentioned the anniversary. With a little pushing from Kathy, Dorit apologizes to Amanda, but Amanda feels as though Dorit wanted to go at it even after she explained her kid died. Well this is heavy… Perhaps Dorit should read the room herself?
