The Top 14 contestants of American Idol season 24 are feeling the heat as they await the postponed announcement of the Top 12. In a recent Instagram post, they shared some light-hearted humor about the situation. Originally, the Top 12 were to be revealed during the Songs of Faith Night on March 30. However, host Ryan Seacrest surprised everyone by announcing that, for the first time ever, they couldn’t finalize the vote count in time. The introduction of social media voting had complicated the process, pushing the eliminations to the next week’s episode.
The talented group competing for a spot in the Top 12 includes Braden Rumfelt, Brooks, Chris Tungseth, Daniel Stallworth, Hannah Harper, Jake Thistle, Jesse Findling, Jordan McCullough, Julián Kalel, Keyla Richardson, Kyndal, Lucas Leon, Philmon Lee, and Rae.
On April 5, which coincided with Easter Sunday, the Top 14 shared their playful anxiety on Instagram with a post that read, “Blessed today and STRESSED for tomorrow!!! Who will make the #IDOL Top 12?!” This light-hearted post captured their anticipation and eagerness to find out who would advance in the competition.
The American Idol Season 24 Top 14 Finalists Joked About Being Stressed About The Elimination
In an Instagram post, shared on April 5, which was Easter Sunday, the American Idol season 24 Top 14 finalists joked about being stressed about the elimination that will turn them into the Top 12. The caption of the post read, “Blessed today and STRESSED for tomorrow!!! Who will make the #IDOL Top 12?!”
The accompanying video began with the caption, “POV: You still don’t know if you made Top 12.” The Top 14 contestants were then shown jokingly expressing their stress in various ways, from Hannah hyperventilating into a paper bag to Kyndal screaming backstage. The contestants are being very good sports about the unprecedented cliffhanger.
Even if the two contestants who were eliminated were secretly informed earlier in the week to avoid forcing them to rehearse a song that they’d never perform, all of the finalists still had to wait longer for the results than they normally would, which would cause an immense amount of stress for them.
What To Expect From The American Idol Season 24 Judges’ Song Contest
The American Idol season 24 April 6 episode will begin with the elimination and then present the Judges’ Song Contest, which will have a ’90s theme. This is the first time in the contest’s history that it will have a theme. Judges Lionel Richie, Carrie Underwood, and Luke Bryan will each choose songs for the Top 12 contestants, who will select one song from the list of three to perform. Whichever judge is picked the most will win the Judges’ Song Contest. That judge usually has the privilege of saving one of the bottom two finalists from elimination.
In addition, stars from ABC’s classic “TGIF” lineup will appear in the episode, including Andrea Barber (Full House), Mark Curry (Hangin’ with Mr. Cooper), Danielle Fishel (Boy Meets World), Danica McKellar (The Wonder Years), Holly Robinson Peete (Hangin’ with Mr. Cooper), Caroline Rhea (Sabrina the Teenage Witch) and Reginald VelJohnson (Family Matters). Also, Jesse Frederick, who wrote and sang the theme songs to Family Matters, Full House, and Step by Step will perform.
The delayed American Idol season 24 has made it a very long week for everyone involved, from the contestants to the judges to the fans. However, before the Judges’ Song Contest begins, all will finally be revealed. American Idol season 24 has been a wild ride so far, with many twists and turns. It’s so jam-packed with incredibly talented finalists that it’s hard to predict who’ll go home. The American Idol season 24 Judges’ Song Contest will certainly be an episode that will always be remembered.
