Model and actress Denise Richards’ reality TV show is no more. Bravo announced that the show, called Denise Richards & Her Wild Things, would be finished after its first season run.
In their remarks, Bravo executives claimed that the show was always intended to be a limited series. Fans, however, are suspecting another reason for the cancellation—the news of Denise’s recent divorce.
Bravo Insists The Show Was Always Meant To Be A Limited Series
After fans’ surprise and disappointment over the show’s cancellation, Bravo set the record straight that Denise’s show was always intended to have a limited run. The one and only season of the show contained eight episodes that followed Denise and her family, including her three daughters and her husband, Aaron Phypers.
Just before the cancellation, however, Aaron and Denise announced that they were filing for divorce, citing “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for their split. While some viewers are speculating that this may have played a part in Bravo’s decision, as of this article’s writing there is little proof to support such a claim.
The show coming to an end with news of Denise’s divorce comes with a touch of irony. Throughout the first season, that is, she spoke very openly about how she believed her marriage to Aaron would be her last, and her belief that the two of them would be together forever.
Denise elaborated on her feelings, swearing she would do everything in her power to remain married:
I’m never getting divorced again. Even if we hate each other, I’m not gonna f****** get divorced.
Though neither Aaron nor Denise has said much about their divorce proceedings, there’s a good chance that at least some of the conflict stems from Aaron’s finances. It was rumored that he was in a challenging financial situation, with a hefty list of expenses—and that he’d already asked Denise for spousal support, per Reality Tea.
Given the fact that things are coming to a head between Denise and her ex, the timing of Bravo deciding to part ways with the family when it did could very well seem like more than a coincidence.
Denise May Find Another Reality TV Role Soon
Fans of Denise’s will be pleased to know that it may not be the last time they see her on their TV screens. Instead, her next reality TV appearance may actually be quite soon. As reported by Parade, Denise may soon make some guest appearances on Real Housewives of Beverly Hills (where she has starred in episodes before).
Though she wouldn’t be a main cast member, she would come in as a more limited “friend of” role in the upcoming season. That said, Denise joining sooner than later for filming might mean that viewers would get an inside scoop into what really went down with the end of her reality show and with her split from Aaron.
Longtime viewers of RHOBH will recall that, in a previous episode, Denise actually recounted how she fell for Aaron in the first place. The pair originally tied the knot in 2018 after what was largely considered to be a messy start—it was pretty widely known that the two got together while Aaron was still legally married to his former wife, actress Nicollette Sheridan.
At the time, Denise dished how she and Aaron had hit it off at his wellness clinic, and that they were off to the races from there:
So, I met him at his center doing DNA repair, anti-aging, and that sort of thing. Then, one time we had sex in one of his rooms. We’ve been inseparable ever since.
Only time will tell if Denise is officially confirmed for more RHOBH appearances in the near future.
