Andy Cohen recently shared his thoughts on a few behind-the-scenes moments from the Real Housewives of Potomac reunion that didn’t make the final cut, including the reason behind Karen Huger’s unusual speech. Additionally, the Watch What Happens Live host opened up about the changes in the Real Housewives of New York cast and reminisced about a past encounter with Carole Radziwill before she made her return.

Following the RHOP reunion, viewers noticed that Karen’s speech seemed off. This came on the heels of her release from prison after a DUI conviction, which left many fans surprised that she participated in the reunion, especially since her on-screen presence was limited to the season’s later episodes.

During a segment on Andy Cohen Live, a listener inquired about Karen’s “teeth.”

“I’m a bit disappointed that this segment was cut from the reunion,” Andy explained. “It was actually significant because it explained why she was speaking differently. She had just gotten new teeth.”

“[When] she was in the middle of talking, [I asked her], ‘Karen, did you get new teeth?’ And she goes, ‘I knew you were gonna point that out, Andy,’” he recalled. “And we kind of laughed about it, but I did feel like it was important for people to know why she was speaking in a certain way because it was a little – it didn’t seem like Karen.”

Later on, Jeff addressed the RHONY cast shakeup.

“We have three new people,” said Andy, who added that Jessel, Erin and Sai are returning. “[The] three new people [are] Erica, Daisy, and Hailey, and they are great for all different reasons. … And there were a lot of people doing discourse about Radzi coming back.”

“She’s coming back as a friend,” said Andy. “We were at BravoCon and Jeff Lewis is like, ‘Radzi’s definitely coming back. You wouldn’t be doing this [if not]. She’s here [at BravoCon],’” he recalled. “[But] it was not the plan at that point. It really wasn’t.”

According to Andy, he met with Carole in December or January to propose her return.

“I think I took her out for coffee in, you know – was it in December or January? – and proposed that she be a friend,” he explained. “She was very Radzi about it. She was very analytical. She’s gotten to be pals with Erin and [her husband] Abe, so they actually are legitimate friends. And she had all kinds of questions about what does that mean, and all this.”

“And she thought about it, and after that coffee I honestly thought it was a 50 – 50 chance that she was going to do it,” he added.

Andy also shared his hope that Martha Stewart will appear in some capacity, given that her makeup artist Daisy is joining the cast.
