Bravo’s Andy Cohen and Anderson Cooper hosted New Year’s Eve Live With Anderson Cooper And Andy Cohen on CNN on Tuesday, and the nation was gleefully not ready for their shenanigans — including Andy’s strident defense of his viral Grateful Dead moment in 2024.

As we recently reported, there was a bit of confusion about whether Anderson and Andy would be “allowed” to drink on air in Times Square, and on New Year’s Eve, Andy claimed that the network lifted their alleged “alcohol ban.”

In November 2023, Andy grumbled about the apparent absence of libations:

“That didn’t go well last year [2022] in terms of viewer happiness about us drinking.

“People really cared and I hope CNN gives the people what they want. Give the daddies some juice.”

That ban was, as we noted, purportedly enacted in part after Andy sassed fellow reality TV genre host Ryan Seacrest a few years back:

“[Andy] Cohen, while on air, addressed ‘New Year’s Rockin’ Eve’ as ‘Ryan Seacrest’s group of losers that are performing behind us,’ adding, ‘I mean, with all due [respect], if you’ve been watching ABC tonight, you’ve seen nothing. I’m sorry.”

Luckily for Americans everywhere, the daddies apparently got their juice, which led to several hilarious moments between Anderson and Andy — including Anderson’s bullying of Andy over a viral video of his rocking out at a Dead And Company show in Las Vegas.

In case you missed it, back in October, footage of Andy dancing like no one was watching circulated on social media.

Andy is a known Grateful Dead fan, and he’s super open about that fact.

A version of the clip made it to Reddit’s r/BravoRealHousewives, and it depicted Andy at a Dead And Company show in Vegas.

CNN shared a snippet of Andy and Anderson discussing their favorite moments of 2024 at 8:07pm Eastern, at the beginning of the segment, and a version of that clip was also shared on r/BravoRealHousewives:

At the beginning of the clip, Andy said his favorite thing in 2024 was – besides doing things with his kids – going to see Dead And Company in Las Vegas.

At the ten-second mark, Anderson breaks out into uncontrollable laughter the moment Andy mentions the concert.

As Andy says “someone videoed me dancing at a concert,” the clip turns to footage of Andy, clad in cargo shorts and a tie dye shirt, dancing in the crowd.

Anderson immediately laughs at Andy, and Andy explains he was having the time of his life — Anderson urges him to look at the video, and Andy responds: “I’m not gonna look at it, I lived it, man.”

Still unable to stop laughing, Anderson blurts out “Oh, my God,” and Andy retorts:

Anderson argues that what the video depicts is “not fun,” but “sad,” Andy objects, and Anderson reminds him that he’s “56 years old.”

Again, Andy objects: “Hey! Don’t put me on blast here!”

Anderson chimes in again:

Then Anderson asks if Andy got his shirt “in the parking lot,” and Andy kind of says “no, but yes.”

In his response, Andy seems to distract Anderson by mentioning someone named Greg, apparently a good friend to both men:

“No, our friend from Camp High, those are his shorts.

“And the shirt was a gift from someone in the parking lot.”

As the clip ends, Andy and Anderson bicker over Andy’s lack of shame about the video, and Anderson reminds “young people” to “always assume you’re being filmed.”
