A coroner is investigating the death of a grandmother after she died three days following an operation performed by the partner of Annastacia Palaszczuk.
Rosemarie Campbell, 62, went in for gastric bypass surgery at The Wesley Hospital, in Brisbane, on February 24, 2022.
She was operated on by Dr Reza Adib, a top surgeon who specialises in laparoscopic, gastrointestinal and obesity surgery and who began dating the Queensland premier in 2021.
Mrs Campbell died three days later with a preliminary report concluding the surgery and an infection were among four factors contributing to her death.
The State Coroner has since launched an investigation into the matter.
Daily Mail Australia is not suggesting Dr Adib was negligent during the surgery.

Mrs Campbell was discharged from hospital two days after she received the surgery before she then collapsed and died a day later on February 27 last year.
She had been preparing to enjoy retirement with her husband.
Her daughter-in-law Jodie Hicks claimed the couple had been working on their dream home.
‘The last few years she worked and worked so they could build this house,’ she said.
‘She wanted this big, family home to have all her family there.’
Her family are considering legal action as they demand answers into her unexpected death, Gold Coast Bulletin reported.
Mrs Campbell’s family claim their mother had been vomiting up water and food two days after the operation.
They claim she was given an injection before she was discharged with medication.

Ms Hicks claimed Mrs Campbell felt like she had been ‘hit by a bus’ the day following her surgery.
‘She didn’t have the energy to get out of bed that morning,’ she said.
A preliminary report by a pathologist found four factors had contributed to the death of Mrs Campbell.
Sepsis, an acute bacterial infection, pneumonia and the gastric bypass surgery.
The findings were detailed in a letter sent to Mrs Campbell’s son Robert Hicks on August 3, 2022.

The Coronial Services Office then sent a follow-up letter to the family on January 12, 2023.
They asked whether Mrs Campbell had experienced any problems with swallowing or pain prior to the surgery.
Daily Mail Australia contacted Dr Adib for comment.
Lawyers for the surgeon said they were unable to comment on the matter.
‘Dr Adib is unable to comment whilst the matter is being investigated by the Coroner’s Court of Queensland,’ they said.

A spokesperson said the hospital was unable to comment as the coronial investigation was ongoing.
