Anne Hathaway has addressed the ongoing rumors about her potentially having undergone plastic surgery, particularly a facelift.
In a recent interview with Elle, published on Thursday, May 21, Hathaway, now 43, candidly discussed the speculation surrounding her appearance. “We live in an era where people often take assumptions as facts, and sometimes those assumptions are accurate, while other times they are not,” she explained. She revealed that her sleek appearance is credited to her hairdresser’s clever trick—braiding two sections of her hair near the temple and pinning them back.
Hathaway expressed her desire to maintain privacy, stating, “Ideally, I would prefer to remain silent on such matters, to embrace the mystery without drawing attention to myself. However, the rumors have grown so loud that it feels necessary to share my truth.” She pondered, “I often question whether I should have posted that or not,” referring to a video where her hairstylist demonstrated the technique.
“I wonder if I should have just continued with what brings me joy and boosts my confidence on the red carpet,” Hathaway mused. “But the conversation had become too much of a distraction.”
Recently, Anne Hathaway turned heads at the Ralph Lauren fashion show during New York Fashion Week. She appeared timeless in a stunning ensemble as she graced the runway. Elsewhere in the interview, Hathaway got candid about being “harsh” with her younger self.
“One of the things about younger me is she was really scared, and I think that fear made me harsh with myself,” the actress said. “I shudder at the thought that I might have inadvertently been harsh with other people while I was being harsh with myself. I actually get nauseous thinking about it.”
