However, Hollie Arnold claims her life was made a misery after Geordie duo Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelly made an ongoing gag about her for the duration of the time she spent on the show, which was filmed in the UK due to strict Covid restrictions.
During the 2020 series, Hollie was left upset as the pair continued a running joke about her using her MBE title in her initial introduction to fellow campmates.
The decorated Olympian said that after Ant and Dec continually made the joke, cruel trolls posted hurtful comments that made her feel “ashamed”.
Hollie then decided to play down the honour she had received by removing any reference to it on social media.

Once Hollie had left the camp, the sports star found it difficult to ignore the cruel comments people started posting about her online.
She is convinced the award winning duo are partially responsible for the vicious trolling she received.
The former Olympian, who won a gold medal in the 2016 Paralympics in Rio, received her award from the late Queen Elizabeth II in 2017 in recognition of her services to field athletics.

When quizzed on if she had received an apology from Ant and Dec over the negative impact of the jibe, she admitted: “No, I haven’t.”
Express.co.uk has contacted representatives for Ant and Dec for comment.
Speaking about the gag she said: ”You know you are fair game on the show but it would have been better if they said, she didn’t mean it like that.
“Unfortunately when you go on these shows you expose yourself and online trolls are very hurtful.”
Despite having a difficult time after leaving the show, Hollie admits that she is proud to have taken part.
She said: “I am thankful and really grateful, I was the first disabled person on the show.
“I wanted to show other people with disabilities that it doesn’t matter what you look like or have, it’s what you do with it.”
