It’s been a particularly strange season of Love Is Blind this month. Many fans have pointed out that Season 8 of the reality TV show has been, well, boring!
Though many couples made it through the season without any real drama, this wasn’t the case for some pod love triangles. In particular, Mason and Meg struggled in finding a last connection — but have they rekindled their romance since?
Mason And Meg Bonded In The Pods
At the start of the season, things were looking up for Meg and Mason, an oncology nurse and a cinematographer, respectively. Meg quickly became known for her upbeat and cheerful nature, and the main thing that she and Mason bonded over was their love of conspiracy theories. Their pod conversations were vastly different from the rest, and Mason was clearly Meg’s first choice.
In the end, though, Mason let slip that another woman, Madison, was his first choice. When she rejected him, he tried to go back to Meg, but by then, she decided that they were past that point:
I made a promise to myself prior to this experience that if I had a feeling I was someone’s number two or default pick I would walk away. If I was looking for a boyfriend I could have possibly stayed, but I was looking for a husband. I could never enter a marriage knowing I was an option to that person.
Just like that, both left the experiment as single as they started. But what’s their status today?
Mason And Meg Might Be Dating
Since leaving the pods, the two singles have apparently reconnected. In Episode 11, when the cast gathers together, we even catch a glimpse of Mason and Meg entering the party holding hands before breaking off to join separate conversations. According to Marie Claire, Mason has confirmed that he and Meg are “hanging out” and exploring their connection in real life.
For her part, Meg explained that while she had resolved she’d never talk to Mason again, as soon as she had access to her phone again, she reached out to him. The two began chatting incessantly, and when Meg asked how Mason was doing after his (double) pod breakup, he had a witty response:
I’m doing a lot worse now that I know you’re gorgeous.
While it certainly seems like the show is hinting at a budding romance between Mason and Meg, it’s hard to say whether the pair is still going strong today. Though we catch a glimpse of a connection between them onscreen, the episodes were filmed now almost an entire year ago, so who’s to say their status now?
Both Meg and Mason have been cryptic about providing updates on their love lives. While before Mason said that things were “really good” with him and Meg, she’s made separate comments explaining that the two are just very good friends. When asked about her life since being on the show, Meg has been vague in her answers, talking about it most broadly instead of dropping specific names.
She’s since explained that she is “very happy with how life has transpired since the show ended.” When it came to any meaningful connections she’d made, she seemed to talk about the entire cast as a whole instead. “I have met some of the most incredible humans and have built friendships that will undoubtedly last a lifetime,” she said.
Perhaps the Season 8 reunion episode (which airs on Friday, March 7th) will provide the answers that fans are looking for. Viewers who tune into the special Netflix event will likely get updates on all their favorite cast members since filming concluded.
