As the couple’s financial issues unfold on The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City, there are claims suggesting that Justin is gearing up to surprise Whitney with divorce papers due to her “disastrous business failures.”
A source confided to The Real Housewives Zone on Instagram, as reported by Radar Online, that Justin has been weary of the show for years but stayed because of the financial benefits. “His reputation has taken a hit, and with Whitney depleting their savings, he feels it’s time to end the marriage,” the insider shared.
Fans of RHOSLC will remember Whitney discussing a failed business venture during the sixth season’s premiere, revealing that Justin had fully committed to supporting her endeavor.
As RHOSLC fans will recall, Whitney opened up about a failed business venture on the season six premiere, sharing that Justin had gone “all in” with her.
“And now we have nothing,” she shared. “I failed all my employees, I failed my customers, I failed my family. Like, I just feel, like, the weight of everyone that this has affected.”
According to The Zone‘s insider, Whitney was “terrified” but “[knew] Justin [was] close to ending it all.”
“He [was] speaking with divorce lawyers … to end the marriage,” the source claimed.
But another insider close to the situation told Radar Online on December 5 that the claims were only “rumors” and that it was “not true” that Whitney and Justin were getting divorced.
Also on RHOSLC, Whitney was seen telling Justin that she was “hurt” when she learned about a “large transfer” from their bank account to one of their vendors.
“It just sucks because my intuition going into this knew not to do it, and I didn’t listen,” she admitted. “Because I would have never f*cking done this.”
She then added in a confessional, “We took Wild Rose Beauty, and we merged it into a new entity. Unfortunately, I’ve made a really bad decision, and right now I’m fighting to get out of ownership of this company. I’m fighting to get my name off of it, to remove me as an owner, and to get back my biggest asset, which is my Wild Rose Beauty name, brand, and inventory.”
Whitney had intended to sell Wild Rose Beauty at large retail stores and was making progress before he convinced her to focus instead on direct-to-consumer sales.
“You all flashed numbers in front of me. I just feel like I had no other choice,” she stated. “But I did it because I trust you. And I’m really mad at myself. This was the first time that you believed that Wild Rose Beauty could go to the next level… if I did it your way.”
“As much as I’m trying not to resent you … it’s hard to separate you from that,” she added.
Although Whitney admitted to a producer that the financial strife initially brought her and Justin “closer,” she later struggled with separating her business drama from their relationship.
“It has affected my marriage because I just am kind of just there,” Whitney explained as Justin spoke of “[feeling] the resentment” from his wife.
“I made a mistake,” he noted. “I definitely get what you’re saying about the belief in your business before this, and you thinking that this is the only way I thought that it could be successful. And that’s not the case. I always thought and knew that your company is going to be successful. I just thought that this was a way that we could work together.”
The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City season six airs Tuesdays at 8/7c on Bravo.
