Ariana Grande recently shared a humorous take on what seemed to be a photoshop blunder, captured in a lighthearted exchange on social media.
The fan Instagram account @ourpinkwitchh posted a couple of images from Vogue Japan, showcasing the “Wicked” star dressed in a cream-colored floral Dior mini skirt and top. In these pictures, Grande is seen delicately lifting her left hand, which, upon closer inspection, appeared to have a mysterious sixth finger.
Sporting a sheer white glove, several of Grande’s hand tattoos were clearly visible in the photograph.
The fan account humorously inquired, “who’s responsible for giving ariana 6 fingers…. 😭” prompting Grande to jump into the comments with the exclamation, “holy s–t.”
Adding to the fun, she playfully commented further, “oh my goodness how exciting! I’ve been saying I need some extra appendages so that I can start an album! thankful for this.”
Fans were quick to respond to Grande’s clever comments, with one joking, “i knew you were hiding something,” and another chiming in, “Ariana AI Grande.”
“This is my wallpaper and I just noticed 😭” quipped a third, while a fourth confessed, “I DIDNT EVEN NOTICE.”
A rep for Vogue did not immediately return Page Six’s request for comment.
It’s unclear where the original image came from — an almost identical photo from Vogue Japan’s stunning new spread featuring the singer did not have the hint of a second pinkie. Grande, 32, channeled retro vibes in several dresses in the high fashion collection of photos.
The multi-hypenate talent — who collected a rising star award at the Palm Springs Film Festival earlier this month — previously joked about how she’s enhanced her youthful appearance in the past.
“You don’t know how much it means to me,” she said after Jennifer Coolidge summoned her to the stage, according to People.
“I’ve been performing since I was a child, so I never thought at the age of 31 I would be hearing the words ‘rising star’ again, so I wanted to start by thanking my two friends: Botox and Juvederm.”
Grande isn’t the only celebrity to be caught up in an apparent photoshop gaffe.
In August, fans called out Kris Jenner for an apparent sixth toe in an Instagram photo — and daughters Kim Kardashian and Kylie Jenner were previously called out for also having six toes in a 2019 ad for their fragrance collab.
Celebs including Princess of Wales Kate Middleton, “Real Housewives of New York City” alum Ramona Singer, reality star Khloé Kardashian, and “RHONJ” personality Teresa Giudice have also been accused of photoshop missteps in recent years.
