Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver‘s son Christopher is showing up and showing off after his 30-pound weight loss journey.
The 27-year-old showed off his new physique while scrolling through his phone in photos shared by his sister Katherine via Instagram Friday, August 22. Katherine, 35, shared a series of photos of a family trip to Cape Cod.
The snaps also included three of Shriver, who was all smiles as she enjoyed a boat trip with her children and grandchildren. “A perfect day ☀️🌊,” Katherine captioned the post.
Christopher opened up about the process of losing weight while speaking on a panel at the inaugural Beacher Vitality Happy & Healthy Summit in Los Angeles on May 10. He admitted, “It was a big process.”
“I started in 2019 when I was living in Australia,” Christopher continued. “I was on this big trip. I made it a big [deal] like, ‘Oh, I’m going to go out and do all this stuff, be in Australia,’ and I just saw how much my weight was prohibiting me from doing the everyday activities.”
One of those activities was skydiving, which he recalled being “excited” to try out. Unfortunately, he wasn’t able to. “I was like, ‘I want to go skydiving.’ And my friends were like, ‘Yeah, no shot,’” he explained. “I was like, ‘Yeah, I can’t skydive.’”

Christopher also said that he “tried everything” over the years to shed weight, but nothing had really worked in the long-term. “I was doing meal delivery things in high school, and I remember feeling like a weirdo when I was bringing weird lunches to school,” he continued. “It’s not an overnight thing, but it took a lot of trial and error. And even still to this day … when you’re saying, ‘oh, before-and-after photos’ … I don’t feel like I’m an ‘after’ yet. I don’t feel like I’m at the point.”
It turned out that giving up bread during the Catholic holiday Lent in 2025 is what finally did the trick. “I was like, ‘Well, if I’m giving up bread, I might as well just take the opportunity and I’m a good Catholic boy, so I’m not going to break it,’” he explained. “And that was my one rule. I was like, ‘I’m not going to break Lent.’ And so, I lost 30 pounds just through that.”
Christopher is the youngest of Arnold, 77, and ex-wife Shriver’s four children. The family also includes Katherine, 35, Christina, 34, and Patrick, 31. Arnold also shares son Joseph, 27, with Mildred Patricia Baena.
