Bachelor in Paradise Season 10 is well underway with a bold new twist and a brand-new location. The season welcomes contestants from past The Bachelor and The Bachelorette seasons, as well contestants from The Golden Bachelor/Bachelorette, who are all mingling with one another in tropical Costa Rica to form long-lasting connections.
When The Bachelorette’s Dale Moss came on to the beach solo, he immediately caught the eye of Kat Izzo, who appeared in Zach Shallcross’s Season 27. They had an instant connection and even kissed on their first date. However, on the July 21st episode, the couple appeared to be on shaky ground. Will Dale and Kat make it to the end, or will they end up exploring other connections?
Hannah Brown Wants Dale Moss And Kat Izzo To Explore Other People On Bachelor In Paradise
Kat Wasn’t Happy When Dale Kissed Alli Jo Outside A Challenge
Dale Moss and Kat Izzo had instant chemistry when they met on the beach, with Dale even giving her his first date card. The two shared a kiss on a boat trip, and continued to seal their connection by giving each other a rose during the first two rose ceremonies. However, on the July 21st episode, and eight days in paradise, there appeared to be a few cracks in their growing connection.
Kat expressed that she was frustrated that Dale was not open and honest to her about kissing Alli Jo Hinkes outside a challenge. When he told Kat to “move past it” and “deaded it” (whatever that means), she found it troubling and shared that “a pink flag has turned into a red flag.”
Bachelor Nation fan-favorite Hannah Brown, who appears this season as Head of Paradise Relations (someone who the contestants can confide in), had a few thoughts on Kat and Dale’s relationship. Fans may find it surprising that she suggested both Kat and Dale try exploring other connections.
While speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Hannah shared, “Okay, so at the beginning for like a split second, I was really trying to understand where Dale was coming from. But then he started talking in all these weird metaphors and sayings, and then he was telling the guys that he just didn’t want to fight on a rose ceremony night. He clearly wanted her rose and I totally get where Kat’s coming from — she just wants someone whose words and actions actually line up, like, in real time. But honestly? I still don’t even know what “deaded it” means, and I’m not afraid to say it!”
When asked by EW what advice she would give Dale and Kat, Hannah suggested that “it might be time for both of them to start looking at other connections — ‘cause as a viewer it just doesn’t feel right anymore.” Is she right?
Kat Confided In Jonathan Johnson And Questioned If She Should Give Her Rose To Dale
Kat Questioned Her Relationship With Dale
During their one-on-one conversation, Kat was confused why Dale did not tell her about his kiss with Alli Jo. “I just feel a little confused because I thought we were supposed to be open and transparent about how we moved in this environment. I would have preferred if that was communicated,” she told Dale.
When Dale brushed off her concerns, Kat couldn’t let it go and turned to Jonathan Johnson for his perspective. Not only was Jonathan sympathetic to how she felt, but the moment also sparked a bit of interest on both their ends, as he acknowledged that she deserved to feel seen and validated.
“I need someone to prove to me that they mean what they say because how else am I supposed to feel safe?” She told him,
In a confessional, Jonathan shared, “Kat deserves to feel chosen, reassured and as if she is the one. I like Kat. I think Kat is stunning. I think she’s incredibly intelligent.”
When Kat had yet another private conversation with Dale, bringing up the Alli Jo situation, he again told her she needed to “dead it.”
“I didn’t hide anything,” Dale told Kat. “It wasn’t even a thought. It just didn’t mean anything.” As Kat was letting Dale know how she felt, he continued to interrupt her, and that’s when he told her, “This sounds a lot like my ex.” The two walked away from the conversation with nothing resolved. Kat confided in Jonathan once again, and would admit, “I love getting attention from Jonathon. I like laughing with him. So you never know. It’s a rose ceremony. Things change on the fly.”
There Was Yet Another Shocking Rose Ceremony
A Golden Gives Her Rose To A Younger Contestant
Dale wasn’t too pleased to see Kat and Jonathan having a private conversation right before the rose ceremony. In a confessional, he shared, “The timing of this conversation right before the rose ceremony, to me, it was really awkward. The amount of respect and clarity that I’ve shown Kat since I’ve been in paradise wasn’t taken into consideration. Maybe I’m just cut from a different cloth.”
While in her hotel room, Kat broke down in tears as she opened up to the other women about how hurt she was that Dale was upset over her conversation with Jonathan.
When it was time for the rose ceremony, Kat ended up choosing Dale over Jonathan. The two even shared a kiss.
In a surprise twist, Golden contestant April Kirkwood decided to give her rose to Jonathan, leaving three Golden men without a rose. The group were in total shock, but April shared that she wanted to save Jonathan in hopes that he could continue and find a connection.
“I want you to have another opportunity to be valued for what other people may not see, but I do” she told him.

But, more drama ensued between Kat and Dale as the night came to a close. Dale was hung up on him and Kat coming from different backgrounds, sharing that he would never do what she did by speaking to another man before the ceremony. “When I tell Kat that we come from different backgrounds, I’m referencing how I grew up, I’m just very, very conscious of the environments around me and the judgments that people place. And I just try to be private with certain things to protect my relationships.”
As Kat confided in the women again, she confessed, “I don’t know if I wanna be with that man,” Kat told the other women. “He f****** freaks me out.”
