The Real Housewives of Potomac’s Wendy Osefo’s previous comments about an alleged robbery have resurfaced since she and husband Eddie Osefo were arrested on fraud charges.

“I think it was right before [filming] literally before cameras went up,” Wendy, 41, said in a September 2024 appearance on the “Gabbing With Gib” podcast. “It happened because my family was away on spring break. It was our spring break trip with the kiddos and I was just so heartbroken.”

Wendy shared that she felt “uneasy” during her “first official scenes” on the Bravo show due to the aftermath of the robbery that she claimed took place in April 2024.

“We had just been violated so to speak,” she continued. “It was the worst thing and so unexpected especially since from my vantage point and from the investigator’s vantage point it was targeted.”

The Real Housewives of Potomac star Wendy Osefo and her husband, Eddie Osefo, were arrested and booked on criminal fraud charges in October 2025. Us Weekly reported that a grand jury indicted Wendy and Eddie on multiple counts of insurance fraud, conspiracy to commit insurance fraud and giving a false statement to police, according to […]

Wendy explained that she had lived in her neighborhood “for a long time” and there had been no reported crime until then.

“Over 20 years there has been no burglary, like, nothing,” she claimed. “It’s so heartbreaking and again going back to my earlier statement at my core [what] centers me is motherhood. My first thought was my kids.”

Wendy said the reason she was drawn to that neighborhood was because of her three children. (Wendy and Eddie share Karter, 12, Kruz, 10, and Kamrynn, 6.)

“Where I live is for their safety, for them to have ample acres to run, play, enjoy, free of anything,” she said. “When someone comes into your home which is such a sacred space and violates you in such a way you start questioning things.”

Wendy noted that she was grateful her family was “safe” and able to “move forward” from the “gut wrenching” incident. The reality star added that she’d be taking more precautions for safety moving forward.

“Now my house is like fort knox … even how we vacation is different, how I post on social media is different,” she claimed. “It’s altered the way I move and you want to be naive and feel like no one is watching you. You can just live life freely but unfortunately that is not the case so it has changed a lot of things.”

On Thursday, October 9, a grand jury indicted Wendy and Eddie for insurance fraud, conspiracy insurance fraud and making a false statement to a police officer. According to court documents obtained by Us Weekly, the pair were booked in Westminster, Maryland, with bail set at $50,000. Eddie and Wendy were released on Friday, October 10.

Wendy and Eddie previously claimed to law enforcement that designer bags and jewelry were missing from their bedroom during a reported burglary in April 2024. The Real Housewife was allegedly seen wearing one of the stolen pieces of jewelry in a later social media post.

Real Housewives of Potomac alum Candiace Dillard Bassett is “floored” by the news of Wendy Osefo and husband Eddie Osefo’s arrest. “I am shocked. I’m sad,” Candiace, 38, said during an appearance on FOX 5 DC on Friday, October 10. The former Bravo star said she was “shaking” after finding out that the Osefos were […]

An investigation determined that other items Wendy and Eddie claimed were stolen had been purchased and returned to their respective stores “where a full refund was provided prior to the alleged burglary.” Prosecutors alleged the duo claimed a $450,000 personal property loss via an insurance company.

Wendy and Eddie released a statement via their rep after news broke of their arrest.

“Dr. Wendy Osefo and her husband, Edward Osefo, are back home safely with their family and in good spirits. They are grateful for the outpouring of concern and support from friends, fans and colleagues,” a representative for the couple told Us Weekly on Friday. “The Osefos, alongside their legal team, look forward to their day in court. At this time, they respectfully ask for privacy as they focus on their family and the legal process ahead.”
